** Due to COVID-19 outbreak this event is now cancelled
and will return on 25th and 26th April 2021 ** The East Anglian Game & Country Fair will take place on Saturday 25th &
Sunday 26th April 2020 at the prestigious Euston Estate, near Thetford, by
kind permission of The Duke and Duchess of Grafton.
Euston Hall is steeped in history and provides a beautiful backdrop and provides a more
central location for The East Anglian Game & Country Fair, only 30 minutes
from Norwich on the newly dualled A11 near Elveden or Thetford turn, with
excellent access to Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex.
What's On at the Show
The Bolddog Lings Freestyle Team will be at the show for
the first-time this year. They will amaze the crowds with their gravity
defiant Freestyle Motocross Show. The nationally acclaimed team has the
largest most high tech landing ramp in the world allowing the riders to jump
gaps of over 75 feet and reach heights of over 35ft in the air, which gives
the riders enough “air-time” to perform an array of death-defying tricks
usually only seen on T.V.
The Essex Dog Display Team produce a professional highly
entertaining, action packed and informative display. The central feature of
the performance is a 100ft long by 8ft high ramp, which the dogs negotiate
at high speed through hoops of fire. Also, entertaining crowds in the main
arena are The Horseboarding UK teams, The British Scurry & Trials Driving
Championships, World and European Casting Champion Hywel Morgan with a
fascinating and humorous fly-fishing demo and Ye Olde Redtail Falconry
Display
There's a fantastic line up of more free events to watch in the Main Arena
and across the show including the hilarious Sheep Show, Hound Parade,
Terrier Racing, Gun Dog displays, Traditional Craft demonstrations and
Farrier and Blacksmith demonstrations. The forestry arena will be a buzz of activity with
chainsaw carvings, felling demonstrations, tree climbing and pole climbing
competitions.
Join in and 'have a go' at a range of country activities like clay shooting, and the shooting competition for men, women and juniors with a massive cash prize
fund up for grabs.
Also have a go at Fly fishing and Coarse fishing on the Black Bourn River,
ferret racing and archery to paintballing and crossbows. Try the air rifle
range, hold a bird of prey, enter your dog into the pet dog show, join in
with your dog at the K9 Aqua Sports pool or take a ride in a Land Rover on
the off road 4x4 course.
Children of all ages will be able to take part in
countryside activities and meet several animals, including alpacas and enjoy
donkey rides. Fun can also be had on the traditional funfair with
helter-skelter and rides for all ages.
Andy Newman will be hosting the 2020 Game Fair Country Kitchen
with a great line-up of cookery workshops and demonstrations taking place
over the weekend and unusual and mouth-watering food and drink
for visitors to sample, enjoy and purchase.
There are over 350 shopping stands with a wide variety of products from
fashion and footwear to gun makers, eco products, fishing tackle and home
designer wares. Plus, craft halls and gift marquees. The Dog & Duck onsite
pub will be serving a great selection of local beers and drinks throughout
the weekend and will be hosting live music and a BBQ on the Saturday evening.
