stored within a back pack for ease of transportation.
The Pett Toilet System is an environmental, lightweight and portable dry
toilet system. The system weighs just 7 pounds and measures 19" x 14" x 5"
(overall dimension) when folded down. The stable, three leg design
enables the system to be used on uneven terrain with ease. The system, when
is use stands at the same height as a standard toilet and the entire system
is quickly deployed.
With this system there is none of the emptying or cleaning out tasks that
you are required to carry out when using a chemical toilets. With the
disposable bags, each person cleans up after themselves, however the bags
can be used more than once, the powder will gel 60oz, which equates to
around 4 or 5 uses, but this of course is down to personal preference.
The waste bag is degradable, deodorises and gels it's contents and is
approved for landfill disposal. There are two bags, one funnel bag with
powder to contain the waste, and a heavy gauge zip lock bag (12"x10") to
secure and transport waste. (They will also work in any marine, portable or
household toilet!)

What did we think?
The Pett Toilet System arrived quickly from time of ordering , via
courier with minimum of fuss.
I decided to time how long it would take from scratch to put the full system
together and be ready for use. Bearing in mind this was the first time, the
tent and the toilet system were ready to use in just 6 minutes, so once you
become used to it, it could be done much quicker. To pack it all away again
took a further 6 minutes, again this time could be decreased once you are
used to how it is done.
The tent itself is superb and goes up by simply taking the centre pully cord
and lifting it off the ground, the tent then takes shape and you simply
click the legs into the locked position, three on each leg. Four pegs in the
base and the tent is ready to go.
The toilet itself has three legs which simply fold out and clip into place,
this stops the unit from collapsing when using it. The bags simply fit into
position and you are ready to go within minutes.
The whole system is simply to use and sanitary, you should have no worries
about the wag Bags splitting etc. and as it is all degradable it is safe to
use and dispose of sensibly anywhere.
The whole system when packed away in the back pack is not too heavy at all,
but could wear you out if on a long hike, but for general camping purposes
this is a superb and unique product that eliminates the need for a massive
porta potti and save on storage space. |
