Building on the
Big Shakeout success of previous years, organisers Alpkit and
Thornbridge Outdoors will be looking for a sell out as they return yet again
to bring you another weekend packed full of adventure and entertainment.
From the 27th to the 29th September, this years festival promises to be
bigger and better, and tickets are now on sale.
The
2013 Big Shakeout will be buzzing with activities for those young and
old, experienced or novice - and promises to be exciting and inspiring for
everyone involved. This year the event is to be held over the weekend of the
27th-29th September, and will once again take place at Thornbridge Outdoors
near Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District.
The
Big Shakeout is designed to bring together many people with a love for
the outdoors. Whether you’ve been doing it for years or are just looking to
start out, the festival has something for everyone. A Big Shakeout pass
gives you 2 nights of camping in the beautiful Thornbridge grounds, a host
of free on-site activities, a Saturday night meal and plenty of evening
entertainment - all for just £45 per adult and £20 per child.

Use it as a weekend base to explore the delights of the surrounding Peak
District during the day and enjoy the entertainment in the evening. There will
also be a number of onsite activities during the day, and alternatively throughout the weekend there will be a diverse range of courses available
through the School of Adventure, from climbing, biking, and canoeing, right
through to caving, bushcraft and photography. Run by Thornbridge instructors,
elite athletes and top coaches, these offer short, affordable oppurtunities to
try something new or brush up on your existing skills.
Then as the sun goes down and the firelight begins to twinkle in the darkness,
the festival area will be transformed into a relaxing and sociable environment.
The atmosphere will be magical and calming - perfect for listening to live
music, watching adventure films, telling tall tales of your days adventures, and
making new friends.
