Kelty Mach 6 Our Review: What did we Think?
The tent arrived the following day after the order was processed and
arrived well packaged and I was surprised at the size of the tent bag, I was
expecting it to be larger than it was, so it was a nice surprise. It will
still leave some boot space for the rest of the camping gear!
On opening the tent bag we were presented with a pump, the tent, all in one
a set of good quality pegs and the instructions, however these were loose
and not sewn in to the tent bag.
A quick glance of the instructions and we were off, pegs in each corner and
then ensuring the valves were ready we attached the pump. It was literally a
few seconds of pumping, maybe 20 strokes maximum and one half of the tent
was inflated and ready to go. A quick swap of the pump to the other valve
and the same again. A few guys needed pegging out to secure the tent from
the wind and done. Both bedroom pods were already in situ , so no need to
spend time connecting them. A total of less than 10 minutes and on my own I
had this tent up.
Inside each bedroom pod are internal storage pockets perfect for your keys,
phone, book, tablet, etc. The tent is fitted with noiseless zipper pulls,
high and low fly vents, a window, and guyline storage pockets to place those
guys in when packing away to save them getting all tangled in the tent the
next time you use it.
The living area is a good size and space to get together including your
chairs and table should it get too cold or wet for you when on site.
Packing away was another ten minutes, release the valves, the tubes deflate,
a few folds and the bag is the perfect size to easily get the tent, pump,
pegs and instructions back in there.
This is a great tent, solid, sturdy, easily erected by one person, large and
practical enough to be used as a family tent and we were most impressed with
the ease of use and the overall look. You will not feel out of place on site
in this tent.
