The 2-second XL has a canopy of sorts but has only two guys on it, the 3-second has no canopy but has 4 guy points. Looking for one which will be used from the car so weight/size not a problem, possibly for 2 people if I can convince my wife to go camping! Will be mostly used in the Highlands of Scotland so it needs to be pretty stable in any winds. Does the 2-second XL have a insect screen door in the sleeping area, in fact does the 3-second model have a insect screen door as well? need this for the dreaded Scottish midgies. How watertight is the main canopy door on the 2-second XL model as it just closes with a catch and not zipped as with the 3-second models?. But if you can get to a Decathalon store they have plenty on display, and have some they use as demo's. I did look at them for the odd night away, they are alright for just sleeping in, but I wanted somewhere I could at least sit in out of the rain. I ended up getting an Outwell Oregon 3, but I also considered the Vango Beta 350, which wasn't that more expensive than the pop-ups. Are you using it for rough camping? Posted By: fiddiwebb Date Posted: 18/7/2007 at 10:17pm Hi Muttley Afraid the nearest Decathlon store is Stockport which is about 440 miles away from me so not really an option of popping down and viewing them. It would be used just for a couple of nights mainly at campsites, as I live in the Northen most reaches of the Highland I know how quickly the weather can change up here and how voracious the dreaded Highland midgies can be so wanted a tent that could be put up and taken down very quickly without getting soaking wet or eaten alive! I might consider using it for just the odd night rough/wild camping possibly up at Sandwood bay. Posted By: muttley Date Posted: 18/7/2007 at 10:56pm Sorry, your location didn't really trigger. If your worried about stability then you'll probably want to use Delta Pegs which ever you decide on. The one I liked was the three second Air, which was airy, light and large, but which comes in the largest package. I'll look at them again and let you know. Is that the 2-second XL , I believe there is an inner door on the sleeping compartment bit on this model but just wanted to be sure. If it is this model you have could you also tell me what the canopy door is like for being watertight when closed, it just closes with a catch and not zipped. No, it is the original 2-second tent circa 2005 - the one with the nylon floor before they changed the groundsheet to polyethylene. All the seconds models have an inner built in. It is made from breathable polyester, including the door. None of the ones I have seen have mesh or insect-screen doors. Posted By: steveandkirsty Date Posted: 19/7/2007 at 9:59pm Hi, On the two second Xl their is an inner door, and it's a two skin tent. The door is interesting as it doesn't zip, but rather pins down. It does look secure though, and I wouldn't worry too much about anything coming in. As far as I could see though, this was the only one with an inner door you could shut, or a screen across the front. We've just bought the 3 seconds air, which is much larger packed than the lights, but has so much space in...
