Thats what I did when i put up my Fiesta awning for the first time
------------- Give a man a fish and he'll feed his family for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit around on a boat all day drinking beer!
You have got the day off lucky you .I have got a month off on the sick ( is that lucky me or not ) after my double hand and elbow operation I `m always on here nowadays Cheers.Alex
Sorry to resurrect an such an old thread but would Steer_2002 b any chance still have the pole diagram for a Pathfinder awning? I have an early 2000 model. I have the poles spread across my garden and it’s got me beaten!
Yes ... always zip on the awning first, throw it back over the main 'tent' .... put the frame up ... slightly lowered 'legs', as suggested (above) ... also slightly reduce the length of all roof poles ....
then pull the awning over the frame, and expand poles to fit the awning ... especially get the tension right along the front of the roof (either side of the centre ridge) ... you should aim to get the the 'overhanging' flap to the roof front, fairly tight, so that it doesn't hang loosely.
Don't be tempted to peg out the awning until you have zipped in all the front and side panels ...
Then do a final check that the poles are correctly lines up with the awning ... especially the two front corner poles (get them lined up with the awning seams).
Then peg out ... if you are going to do without the side/front panels ... just peg the corners and front central 'leg'.
Everyone struggles the first few times ... after a few goes, you'll have your own system down to a tee.
Bon Chance!
Thanks very much for the reply but you skimmed over the bit I’m most stuck on.
I have a collection of poles and have no idea how to assemble them. I can see some have feet on the end, so I can assume they go on the floor but others have right angled hooks and others with pointed ends which do not immediately go together logically. Also 2 poles have adjustable clamps. I was hoping someone on here has the original instructions or diagram so i can see which poles go where.
Have a look and ask Steer to email you his pole plan.
I have a Pathfinder plan for their new carbon fibre pole set up, but suspect has changed recently .... if you get no joy via the Steer suggestion, let me know.
Thanks. I will and reach out to steer but I don't seem to be able to find the option to email. Maybe it's because I'm a new member. The explanation in the other thread is also useful so that's for highlighting that for me.
