has anyone used a garden cushion storage box on the A frame?

  Hi Mate,I have not used one myself as mine already had one fitted, but I have seen a few of these or similar fitted to trailers on camp sites,so it can be done.Make sure that you reinforce the bolt holes with large washers or batons.You will save a lot of ££££.

i have been on the forum where andy100 used,it looks good and there is alot of people used the same thing.i have got a conway box but i need more space.

looks like i am going to buy one of thoses.

Yes that is almost exactly like mine, got mine from B&Q's for £20 last year.  Although I did strengthen it using 3/4" marine ply to fit the internal base then bolted onto A frame using U bolts.

Finished item can be seen in my gallery, any questions just ask away.  Couple of things to be aware of are not to overload it making the noseweight too heavy and to be careful about positioning it on A frame so as not to hit the car on a tight turning circle.

thanx for the reply andy,i am still thinking of getting of one getting of these boxes.that was one thing that was stuck in my mine was the turning,i use my trailer most of the time with my american car travelling to different car shows.

what sort of car do you use?have you got a good turn?

I tow with a Peugeot 406 which is a largish car but probably not as big as the american one you use.

One quick way to find out is to cut a template out the size of the base out of say cardboard. And use this on the A frame to see if it would catch, I would not of thought so.

The space between the back of the box and the trailer tent is quite small probably about 50/60mm, which I find enough to tuck the canvas down when erecting the TT.
