Finished checking the TT over today and fitted these wheel nut/bolt indicators once i had torqued the wheel bolts up,the bolts take a 17mm socket and the indicators are 17mm aswell to suit,should save me from keep checking the wheel bolts all the time with a wheel brace and all i have to do now is take a quick glance to see if the pointed ends have moved away from each other,also whilst on the motorway if the wheel bolts did come loose the indicators should stop the bolts from coming all the way undone once the indicator ends make contact with the hub nut cover in the center...

they save the risk of stretching the threads by over tighening  them by keep tighteing them up all the time to check if the bolts/nuts are tight...

Great Idea! Didn't know you get these for anything smaller than a 38-Tonner.

I would just like to argue about the 'Stretching Threads' argument though. Provided the nuts are checked with a torque wrench, there is absolutely no chance of this happening. People shouldn't be put off checking wheelnuts for fear of stretching threads.

Same goes really if checking by hand as well, if you're careful and don't stand on the wheelbrace!

Really, when you're checking wheel nuts you are checking that they haven't loosened - ie, they can be moved easily by hand. You don't need to torque them up every time.
