I've just had a successful weekend converting our 2006 Conway Cruiser (one of the first rebadged Pennine Pullmans) to 13-pin electrics. I'd initially used a Maypole plug that accepts the two 7-pin cables, but the copper in the 12S cable was in poor condition due to water ingress — by the time I'd cut it back to good wire, it was too short.
It turned out to be a fairly straightforward job: I bought 3 metres of proper 13-core cable with the thicker power cores and a 12-way 15A "chocolate block" (pin 12 isn't used in the camper). The old 12S and 12N cables come out of the cupboard under the cooker, and run under the floor, branching out to the front position marker lamps on the way.
I cut off and pulled the old cables up into the cupboard, cutting and stripping to an appropriate length, and connected them and the new cable up to the chocolate block, paying careful attention to the old 12N/12S and new 13 colour coding, running separate thin twin-core cable from the 13-pin side of the block to the front lamps rather than making joints under the floor as had previously been done.
I enclosed the chocolate block in an old ABS Maplin project box I had kicking about and carefully tested everything. I've not yet tried the fridge and charging circuits, but the lights all work perfectly.
The 3 metres of new cable turned out to be about 50cm more than needed. Rather than cut it short, I have looped it back within the chassis: if my plug ever suffers damage, I have enough spare to pull some more out and fit a new plug (probably twice!).
