you will have a great time,

you will meet new friends and feel at home from the moment you set up camp. normally we hold  a camp BBQ on the Saturday evening where the raffle is drawn and the pink stuff  is dished out. we usually have a camp quiz sheet too, remember its all designed with fun in mind.you can get as involved as you want too ,

enjoy your first rally

Hi

If it's any help I think everyone I have spoken to, us included, started out feeling the same as you.  We did feel a little bit lost on our first night because the organised BBQ gathering was on the Saturday and on the Friday night people did their own thing.  I think we went to bed by 10!  We found our feet the next day though and really enjoyed ourselves.  I say that it took to about our 3rd or 4th meet to really feel at home and push ourselves forward to get out and meet people (I can be a bit shy- luckily OH is more outgoing).  Lots of people come on meets to enjoy quiet time or to take advantage of rally prices and don't want to get into the midst of the action.  So unless you can take a deep breath and come out to meet people you will be left largely to your own devices.  I sometimes worry that this comes across as cliquiness and it really isn't - making new mates is one of the best bits - people wouldn't just assume you wanted to join in.

Every meet is different and we have met some lovely people we now regard as true friends.  We have got to see more of our lovely countryside too and the kids always have a whale of a time together.

I think posting on the meet thread on the forum really helps too as you get to know some of the others attending and the ice is already broken a bit.

Go for it!

As written by JulieRR ........ who is not available at the mo   [;)]

There are a number of threads on this subject, but to be honest I wouldn't know where to start to find them. lol.

normally most people arrive on a Friday, set up, have something to eat, & get to know their neighbours, have a few drinks & mingle, the Marshall will normally be the 1st person to speak to you when you arrive, & introduce you to whoever is milling around, so you don't feel like an outcast.  Then on Saturday you can decide what you want to do. some go off out & about, some stay on site & just chill & chat, then on Saturday tea time, we try & get together at a central location in the field, & you bring your own BBQ & food & drink, (don't worry if you don't have a BBQ someone will let you cook your food on theirs) we cook & eat our own food, unless you want to share. lol. when everyone has eaten we normally do a raffle, proceeds go towards the bucket of pink, or should I say Rocket Fuel !  & we sit around & chat & have a drink or 10.  the kids tend to be doing their own thing, they soon make friends & thats the last you see of them until bedtime.  Then on the Sunday, most people just take their time packing up & saying their goodbye's, & go home back to the humdrum life, knowing they have made some great friends, & counting the days until the next meet.

I hope that answers your question, if not just give a shout & someone will let you know. Look forward to meeting you.

Our first meet was with Julier and Ant and can i just say - great hosts and what a laugh. Saw Julie at the Skirlington meet and she is now regarded as a friend than anything else. We had a great weekend with them and really felt part of the gang. No clickiness just a great laugh - go for it ull love it with them. Just wish we could go on this one butdue to work etc we can't

Enjoy - im 100% sure u will!!!!!!!!!! They got us hooked now we blame them for every meet we go to!!!!!!!!!!!
