I have just replied on another thread about meets, just to repeat what I said there:.
Been on quite a few meets now, and they vary, some are big and have lots of events planned, e.g. fancy dress, quizz, scavenger hunt, sports day, teddy-bears picnic, treasure-hunt, plus seasonal events such as easter-egg hunt or fireworks. The smaller ones may have 1 or 2 or none of the above arranged, but at all of them we usually gather together in the evening for a BBQ and drinks. Even so, you are under no pressure to join in if you don't want to, and it doesn't matter whether you are a drinker or a non-drinker, the meets have pleny of both. There is usually a host who will greet you and let you know whats been arranged.

Hi Shooun
There are a number of threads on this subject, but to be honest I wouldn't know where to start to find them. lol.
Cas54 copied this off one of my posts a while ago & told me to save it for just such an instance, so here we go:
normally most people arrive on a Friday, set up, have something to eat, & get to know their neighbours, have a few drinks & mingle, the Marshall will normally be the 1st person to speak to you when you arrive, & introduce you to whoever is milling around, so you don't feel like an outcast. Then on Saturday you can decide what you want to do. some go off out & about, some stay on site & just chill & chat, then on Saturday tea time, we try & get together at a central location in the field, & you bring your own BBQ & food & drink, (don't worry if you don't have a BBQ someone will let you cook your food on theirs) we cook & eat our own food, unless you want to share. lol. when everyone has eaten we normally do a raffle, proceeds go towards the bucket of pink, or should I say Rocket Fuel ! & we sit around & chat & have a drink or 10. the kids tend to be doing their own thing, they soon make friends & thats the last you see of them until bedtime. Then on the Sunday, most people just take their time packing up & saying their goodbye's, & go home back to the humdrum life, knowing they have made some great friends, & counting the days until the next meet.
-------------
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it
