Does anyone have a copy of the instruction manual for the Electrolux 212b three way fridge please. At the moment it's not working on 240v and we would like to try it on gas but cant see where to light it!!! The instructions left in the van by the previous owner says "open little window at the back left hand side and light" but we cant find any little window,
Does anyone have this fridge and could enlighten us
Hi Susan you may get one at the Dometic Website, they have only copies of many of the different fridge manuals available. hope that helps if not let us know and we will see if we can source one.
My fridge is Electrolux 2 way (no 240v). I think the window you are looking for is actualy bottom left, below the door. It has a little pull down door which enables you too see to the back of the unit where the spark ignights the gas. On mine, its next to the gas control and ingniter button.
I have found with mine that on the first "click" the gas pops but doesn't properly ignite. To light it I click once to make it pop, then after a 1 second pause, click again and it lights up properly.
Steven, Ours must be an old fridge there is no spark ignition , i think you have to light it somewhere with a match .
Iv'e just had another look and at the back of the fridge left hand side there is a glass tube about 2 inch long when pulled out , dont know what's thats for though,
Doh of course there is an ignition switch (thats what you get when sending son to check for you) and the glass tube shows when its lit. so have lit it, now to wait to see if it gets cold,
If it does then cant understand why it's not working on 240v .
I think you will find that the gas and electrical operation are independant. If it works ok on gas, you have confirmed that the coolant side of things is ok. This could still mean that the 240v element is not working.
Hi papa , Yes it's getting cold So don't understand why it's not working on 240v.
Nick, thank you for the link, it's the same one as Papa gave me , but it hasn't got my fridge (thats if I'm doing it right) .
So still on the look out for an instruction manual,
If i cant get one on line i suppose i could write to them for one, thats if they still have one for our fridge ,don't know how old it is but the camper is 1981.
Fridge is a 1983 Electrolux FA212B, still no sign of a manual, will keep trying though!
Technically if it runs on gas it should run on lecky and 12volt(when towing) Look in the cupboards either side of the fridge for a stop cock for the gas. It may be that it has a safety device that does not allow it to be run on mains at the same time as gas, not sure on that one.
Does the electric cable plug in, like a household one, somewhere, fuse in plug. also check the caravan fusebox, not sure where yours will be, possibly in the wardrobe or under a seat. Was the rest of the electrics OK (trip switch) Hope that gives you a few ideas to be going on with! Keep us up to date!
Hi again, Well Mick's gone of to work in the van and will be away till weekend by which time i hope to have some solutions why its not working on 240v at least he can use it on gas for this week, but in the long term why pay for gas when you pay for leccyon site?.
Don't know if it's working on 12v either would he have to keep the engine running a couple of hours to find out?
Papa pip. We have not turned anything on or of since using it last season when it was fine , There is a fuse box in the seat which looks like it should be for the fridge there are two cables in there going in that direction we checked them and they look okay.
It would be good if someone could find a manual , I'm not that good at sourcing things..
Nick. how would i find out if the 240v element is not working, do i have to contact an electrolux fixer
Suggest you take it to a (corgi registered)caravan repairer--fridges are actually meant to be serviced occasionally!--they have been known to catch fire & burn out your van--
Hi all, Good news ,read lots of threads on the subject and found the problem was unlevel ground Mick got the spirit level out and leveled it up as best he could and it's working fine ,in fact it got so cold he had to turn it down.Thank you for all your help.
