Shows the areas you need to mask for driving in the continent. Not so easy for the 2007 on models, but should be OK for the 2002-2006 models.
Discussion that pro-longed used of tape on the headlight may damage the headlamp as it will deflect heat back into the lamp, so some people buy protectors for the lights and stick the tape/mask on to those.
Mine are still on (04) maybe if id bits of leccy tape on the lamps like that id have noticed and taken them off.
For the £2 they cost me, i prefer the real thing if im honest (and you get a positioning diagram for every motor ever produced). Get some brass spent you tight bugger.
To be honest, I've never had them on my MH. I don't drive abroad in the dark generally - maybe twice in 5 years.
All that is required is to block light from specific parts of the lens, so tape will do the job just grand.
In both the photos above, the vans also have light protectors fitted and the "deflectors" are fitted to those. I think the deflectors are about £30-£40. Much cheaper that a new headlight I suppose.
