The main drawback is that there are only 6 toilets!!
The plus points:
4 Coarse fishing pools
Large childrens play area in the middle
EHU
10 Acre site
Dog walks

CAMPING & CARAVANNING
A mile from any main road Pillaton Hall Farm is situated in the tranquil setting of the heart of the Staffordshire countryside with picturesque views overlooking Cannock Chase.
The camping and caravan site has been created with children and families in mind, offering a relaxing carefree break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The site offers a half acre dog walking area, with escape proof perimeter fencing where dogs can be taken off their leads to run free for exercise. At all other times dogs must be kept on a lead.
Camping & Caravanning Children will have a fantastic time playing in the play area which is equipped with swings, slides and climbing frames (suitable for children aged 3 to 12 with parental supervision).
Both caravanners and campers are welcome on the 10 acre site. There is an adult only field which can be booked in advance by ringing the site office. This field is adjacent to Pool 1 and is 200 meters from the toilets and showers. The main caravanning field has the children's play area located in the centre of the field and fishing pools surrounding the site. Electric hook ups are all 16 amp and must be booked in advance due to high demand during summer months.
Toilet, shower and elsan facilities are all located at the far end of the site near Pools 2 and 3. These facilities provide 5 showers and 6 male and 6 female toilets with disabled toilet access.
Penkridge village has a number of restaurants and pubs. Information on these can be found on the Penkridge web site at www.penkridge.org.uk or by making enquiry at office on arrival.
Our local butcher will deliver meat; sausage, bacon and burgers, for your BBQ's. Some Indian and Chinese restaurants will deliver to the site; menus and phone numbers can be found on notice board.
Prices seem very reasonable too but I haven't phoned them yet untill I get a rough idea of how many units/pitches we need.

Would we do a group booking? or seperate bookings but tell them we are a group?
Would we all be OK at getting together at nights for a beverage and chat but doing your own thing in the day? Would we want something more structured?
I favour doing your own thing but a beverage and chat in the evenings ??
yes count us in, me, OH and 10 year old daughter. May also bring our 13 year old son but he sometimes prefers to stay with the out laws. We're happy to do our own thing in the day and have a get together at night. Sounds great and very reasonablle price and not to far for us to travel either.

Great its only about an hour away from me, so count me in. It amuses me that they count children as under 12, mine will be 13 then but is not an adult!! I'm happy to do own thing during day (taking dogs for a long walk) and meet up in evening. It will be good to put faces to tents!!
If anyone wants to have a quick look at the facilities here click my pictures at the bottom of my post. We had a meet here last April and the photos can be seen by clicking on the Pillaton Hall link.
Ok here goes, I have spoken to the lady (really nice she is)at the site today and this is the outcome:
Everyone should contact the site direct themselves to book their pitch. When you book you will have to pay in full for the two nights but you can extend your stay either side if you wish. When you book plese tell her that you are with UKCS and Keely Parsons or dadsbeaniemad.
Telephone number for the site : 01785715177
She had put aside areas 9 and 10 (you can find them on the website) which are on the main field and all have EHU. If you look on bill the bus' post and click onto his pictures there is a good one of the layout of the site.
Pup tents and qwnings are included in the pitch price.
Dogs are welcome but the usual rules apply - kept on a lead, well behaved and clean up after
Once you have booked can you please let me know the following as she said I should also keep a note of who would be going.
I need to know your name, your unit and how many adults and children (with ages) are in your unit.
I think that is everything covered - I am happy for anyone to email me Kparsons1966 my server is AOL. (hope that makes sense)
