cheers andy!
I am fascinated by the annexe. Having seen the picture.. i want one! Does the extra layer on the roof make the tent a bit cooler in direct sun??? or does it make it hotter? If you go into the tent via the annexe, and kick your muddy boots off there, having a full length groundsheet in the 'main' bit makes more sense too. (i said camping was a shopping opportunity!)
It looks lovely and grassy where that picture was taken. Sadly the New Forest, where we tried our tent for the first time, is bald (in all the places flat enough for anyone to have a pitched a tent on anyway) because of the very dry summer. It also has something to do with it being a SSSI, we were told. At least when we went it was moist but not tooo muddy. Our neighbours who went the previous week and recommended the site to us said it was very very dusty. I will get more pics up soon.
back on topic... Using the tri-guys 'factory set', the tent made a very large 'footprint'. That was OK on a site where everyone is supposed to be 6 mtrs from the next person. It was just me going to fall over them, and i did. However at a festival it will look a bit space greedy and somewhat hazardous. I will be interested to know if i can take up less space with the guy ropes but still be secure. It will be in mid July so hurricanes will not be expected. It will be grassy but on a little hill.
thank you
