Does anyone know if the Vangy large canopy fits the Vango Vista 800 tent? or if not is there a canopy that will? I have emailed Vango but I am still awaiting a reply.

Thanks.

don't hold your breath re hearing from Vango - 3 times I emailed them asking about suitable lighting for our new Zanzibar 600 ( our trusty old frame tent had given up the ghost!) as there are no poles internally - got fed up of waiting so got hold of a phone number where I explained still waiting for response to email to be told that it was company policy not to advise on such matters!!

Hi Tracy, I too have bought the large canopy to go with my Vista 800, they guy that sold it to me on Ebay says it does, although the info that comes with it says it is only compatible with the Diablo and similar tents with extended porch`s.
I am actually off for my first outing tomorrow and plan to just try and get a nice tight fit over the tent with extended guy lines. I have not had both up together as my garden is too small, so i will let you know when i am back on thursday or friday and post a piccie or two if I am succesful!

I had a similar problem last summer and couldnt get a straight answer from Vango or shops. Someone on here pointed me in the right direction. I have a Vango Yukon which i think is similar to the Vista 800. I bought the large canopy on direction from shop and Vango and it wouldnt fit on the side door, it pulled the roof of the tent as the guy's werent long enough. I am not familiar with the vista but if you want the canopy to attach to the side door then you need a Vango canopy tunnel as at the bottom left of this link (hope this works)

http://www.outdoorworlddirect.co.uk/acatalog/Vango_Canopies.html

The Vango large canopy goes over the big doors/end of tents if that makes sense.

As promised here are a couple of photos to show how i put the canopy up, it was a little windy when i put it up, so its a little crooked, well thats my excuse anyway!
Its not a perfect fit but it did the job for me, I extended the guy lines and added an extra one, if you are going to do this use a cling ons or add some eyelets, this time I just made a small hole, which may rip, i would recomend using two extra lines to make it a little more sturdy.

As you can see in the next picture it made the tent sag a little, but this was no real problem, I also ended up moving the two outer guys over the to the other side of the poles, this helped!

Over all this was a success for me, and I hope this helps you too!

Do you think this would be sufficiently adaptable to fit an Outwell Utah - ie over the other door, not the porch where the extension goes?

Hi

By far the best canopy for the Vista would be the tunnel canopy or the tunnel extention as they are shaped to fit in the side of the tent. The Canopy shown in the image above will fit ok on the end door of the tent if you have a end door.
