Hi,
Anyone else had problems with cold water supply having a rather bad taste. This happened with my old van(charisma 550) and now with my brand new van(Swift Challenger 540). Its not the water container, nor the pipes - I suspect it is from the hot water tank. If you taste(not swallow!) water drawn from the hot tank the taste is worse, but it is also there(less noticable but still bad) when the tap is turned to cold only. THis suggests to me that when the tap is turned fully to cold, it is still drawing some water from the hot tank. Letting the cold water run for a bit doesn't seem to make any difference. Anyone else had this problem and maybe found a solution?

Got the same problem, and the only solution we've found is to use bottled water for drinking!!!!

Hi decho, Welcome to UKCS, we have not really had a problem with bad tasting water, but, just to be on the safe side, I always use bottled water for cuppas & the kids juice, just a precaution really, the way our luck is lately I'd rather be on the safe side. We use maybe 3 litres of bottled water for a Fri - Sun break. Its not expensive, I'd just rather be sure where the kids are concerned.

We take a water filter. We have found that different sites have different tasting water. One site we went to we had to filter 3 times before it tasted ok, others no problems at all.

We always use bottle water for drinking as our water from the caravan system seems to taste of plastic.
