Edited this post, went to have a read on this stuff, seems everything now is made for 30mbar.
deffo has more to do with money than ideas, normal propane regulator, £5.00, 30mbar one £20+. and it also seems that one of the so called better regulators for this is made by claor,

You cannot go back to the old style regulator if the bulk head reg as failed.your van.motorhome outside of the type it was approved for. and possibly making your insurrance invalid, Not saying the old type reg wont do the job, but which ever van or motorhome, it is manufactured to use this reg only, I read this some where.
sorry why i was typing this, you had edited your post.

yeh, seems that all the new stuff made after a certain year are only made to operate at 30mbar (caravan and motor home and canal boat), seems that the normal camping gear is ok, on the other regulators, it gets far to complicated, by the sounds of it, what happens if you want to upgrade an old van with new stuff, that brings in other issues, will running a water heater designed to run on 30mbar be ok to be run on a propane feed of 37mbar on an old van, or does this also pose a risk of explosion ect,
or would the whole van have to be updated to run on this new stuff, think we should blame it on the Europeans for this mess,
------------- If it wont move, try a bigger hammer.

Having read so much about the new fixed regulators in modern vans suddenly packing up with no pre warning I was thinking of carrying a spare. I've been on the internet and was amazed at the variety on offer.
Has anyone else done this and where would be best to get hold of a compatible regulator. I have a Lunar Quasar 462 2 berth caravan.2008 model.
Thanks in advance to all who respond.
gaslow offer one with a 5 year warranty http://www.gaslow.co.uk/
but any 30mb single stage bulkhead regulator will be ok
