I still think they are fantastic tents. the problems are mostly Quality assurance ones, so always worth testing before use.
Although we are having a SV8 replaced, we perhaps could have lived with the anchorage points fault but felt that Outwell need to realise how often these issues exist. Once they have replaced / exchanged enough tents they may get their QA process in order. Still love my Outwells though.
Ps it didn't leak .. just the anchorage points on 3rd bedroon were way out.

Just being nosey Janso. I'm impressed to see Tunisia on your camping list, have you been yet (can't work out if that's 23rd April to 6th May or 23rd May to 6th June)? Did you/will you camp in one of those bedouin type tents?
not camping tunisia I'm afraid pete,an hotel !..mrs would never go 4 it,she has to know what animals are about first..lol,I have been before and I go because it is very cheap and its the same as anywhere once there,sea,sun,beer,pool...and then there are russian women..wow!!
I've camped deserts many times in my younger days though...tents are a little diffferent now though.

Hi...yep phil/ruth. I have noticed that the indiana has not come in for much critisicm yet, it just seems to be nebraskas, monntys and sv8's....i just want to get it up now....i'm using the vango at the weekend and might try to erect the indy before i go to give it a few days test in this weather..
We have a 2005 Hartford XL and I won't hear a word said against it! I love it! That said. we have just got a Starcamper 4 from this very site, which seems as though it will do nicely for wekends. A bit easier to put up and down and outer sheet first.
The Hartford is still my first love and can't wait for 1 and half weeks in Cornwall in August. Will certainly have a few weekends before then!

There is nothing wrong with the design of the tents, its just Outwells quality control!
I love my Montana 6, but I do not love its manufacturing fault and Gooutdoors assertions its a tight fitting tent and not a fault. Goutdoors may think they have fobbed me off, but if it doesn't go up properly next time, in Arnie'e words............"I'll be back!!! "
Very happy with my 2007 Norfolk Lake - fantastic tent although the carpet didn't fit. Got around that one by buying a carpet for the SV6 which is the correct size and £10 cheaper.

Got a Vermont L & Love it soooooooooo much don't even care that the tempriture thingy dosent work. Fab water proofing, snugg, spacious & if I could I would sell the house & live in it all the time.

Had all the ussual probs with my Monty 2006, exchanged it for a Monty 2007 and apart from a rather dodgy thermometer it is great.

We got a Montana 12 last year but the new model with the beuatiful thermometer feature, popped it up in our garden end of last year and bearing in mind it wasn't pitched fantastically due to a lack of space as it is huge, it didn't leak at all - so we will be going on our first family camping adventure in it soon, and I will let you know if we have any problems, though so far we are very happy and think it is lovely.
