If anyone is after a polycotton 4 berth tent I found this for £199. Is similar to the Vango Tigris 400 but in polycotton. Originally made in 2009 would make an ideal weekend tent for two or small family.

Vango Carrera 400

They also have the 600 £299 and 800 £375

they do a 600 and 800 models too.

Does anyone know if the back of the polycotton on these tents has that shiny coating (denoting a cheaper canvas type)?

dont know about the coating but I remember reading reports about the poles not supporting the weight of the tent and them snapping.

I had the Carrera 400 as a secondhand tent and the poles on that were fine. Nothing on the reviews about this either. The poles are made from aluminium.

Do you have a link to the reported pole problem as I would feel terrible if someone bought one and found this to be the case?

I had the 800 and the poles were fine, used it in all kinds of weather, was just a bit of overkill for 3 of us. Lovely tent and the material was definitely not shiny.
