well I'm not actually going but I did pitch it this weekend...

Latest addition to the tent factory is Clyde....

I have no excuse now not to try a bit of winter camping (was really snug in him)

And he definitely is a 'he' so ignore girly bits draped on him...

just pitched

oddments of outwell carpet (need some for bedroom, picnic mat is rubbish!)

His bum

Windbreak sides attached

P1050381.jpg picture by valbarley

makes a decent sized shelter

P1050400.jpg picture by valbarley

pretty up time!

P1050388.jpg picture by valbarley

P1050383.jpg picture by valbarley

P1050396.jpg picture by valbarley

Lastly trying out the obelink tarp on it (clingons worked well rather than making new eyelets - i was going to punch 2 new holes, but the existing eyelets are re-inforced so I didn't want to weaken it)

P1050405.jpg picture by valbarley

P1050409.jpg picture by valbarley

Lastly Homer modelling his delta dog stake..(10/10!)

P1050411.jpg picture by valbarley

the end

So i now have no excuse at all ever never again to buy another tent

Have got:-

Bruno the BL for any weather when me and OH camp

Bella the bell tent for me thoughout the summer weekends

Clyde the cabanon for me throughout the winter weekends

And Mr Inside Out Topsy Turvy is 'just in case'

Out of all them which do I prefer to camp in if conditions are ok?...the bell tent

very nice, I love the hanging thing in the lounge. What carpet is it that fits the living area? Love the set up and thats the 1st time I've seen one with two side panels. Did you buy it all new then?

I'm sure you know but make sure the bed/bedding/sofa arent touching the canvas if it rains/is wet or your stuff will get wet too.

Lovely, lovely tent .

Am glad you said to ignore all the clutter because, imo, the earlier pictures in the sequence looked much better than the later ones where it starts to look a bit like the fag end of a jumble sale. Less is more etc etc.

Think you might have to sleep head to the door if you're going to use that high mattress? I always like the way that the set up which works perfectly in Tent A is never quite the same in Tent B, so you have to make a new plan. And maybe even go shopping .....

Carpet is just offcuts from when i made the 5m round one for the bell tent - got to try and find a 2.2mx3.5m for the bedroom now

Did notice the bum pic with bed pushed against it, so going have to revise thinking there.  Was a right faff trying to fit a king size aerobed and turn it!  Have already ordered a double vango 7.5cm S I mat for the winter, so won't be an issue then.  Everything else is away from the walls

It did rain a bit but not enough to give it a good weathering

And lastly did search everywhere for barbados or similar size pyramid (looked at mont blancs etc) Tried marketplaatz - emailed 6 people, 2 finally answered - 1 said no delivery to UK, and the other said tent was 1000 euros (second hand..?!) and wasn't sure if they would deliver. So gave up with that.  Ebay and preloved seem to be dead ends (ebay had one a few weeks ago but was used and still £700 (which did include the windbreaks though) so gave up there

Went to attwools and looked at guadeloupe, and asked about Barbados and got the spiel 'only one left and 1 windbreak'.  Said i didn't want it unless he had 2, so promised he would get another even if he had to order from france.  Anyway went back and he got the 2 windbreaks.  Then he priced it up (smelling salts required here) so i said it was cheaper here, there and everywhere etc etc so he matched prices.  Then asked him to throw in my cotton guy ropes (they were only £6 so he's wasn't going to lose a sale for them) and that was it.  Just needs a second mortgage now (Fusty sold for £175, OR utility tent got £60 refund and coleman annex fetched £46 so that is my down payment....trying to convince myself here..)

So yes I am a wanton spend thrift

Just posted about the mattress - Plan B is already in action!

Agree, I'm not keen on the bunting on it - will keep for the bell tent or just wrap it around the dog

Was just a trial run really, I took the tarp back down as I didn't really need it.  I also like the look of it without the windbreaks more, but they were practical and are there to stay as I spent most of the weekend sat under there

No no I'm not going shopping!  Although I have got to go to ikea this afternoon...

Sofa was a 'one off season' of garden furniture at john lewis a couple of years ago

Folds down totally and is really practical (much prefer it to the inflatable)

I got it off ebay but keep looking for another and they are like dodo's to find

this is it folded underneath

Only one thing holding me back is the de wit pyramid with the windows in the sides. Makes it so much lighter inside. Will wait till i see one in the flesh before i decide

Congrats Val very envious

LOL! Therapy needed I think!

Did you get the pyramid 6 or the barbados? Which one have you got now?

Just re-read it and says the pyramid 6! (you had a barbados though didn't you?)

Noticed the pyramid 6 canopy a few weeks ago on ebay - think you were selling it - just wondered why you got rid of it?

That must be the other 'last one in stock he had left' at attwools!

Not too worried about windows (never open them on the bear lake and the bell tent hasn't got any), can't say it was dark or dingy in there anyway

I liked the superior 6 (i think it was called that) on the obelink site but looking at over 50kg of tent for one person to camp in winter - was a bit overboard!

Good luck with whatever you go for!
