After many faithful years service our Aztec Sala has been retired.  We've now bought the Montana 6 and will be pitching it for the first time in the Dales in 2 weeks.  No chance to try it out before!  Any advice for two persons pitching ( one 6ft one 5ft)thats not covered in the instructions. Should we be able to have our G&T's within 45minutes of arrival.

We have the 2005 model, I believe they are similar apart from the porch.  Guy the back of the tent, we then insert all of the poles and raise the first set, then pull the tent tight and raise the next set until we reach the front.  Think of it like a caterpillar moving forward if you like......!  We then guy the front to hold it all up, make any adjustments to iron out any slack like pulling the legs forwards a bit more etc then peg out.  You will want to unzip the front door at the beginning too to allow air in or else you get a vacuum making it hard to raise.

We have Monty 6 07 and we pitched it faster first time than second time!

Yep, its real easy if you dont rush. Dont try and pull the roof poles apart when they stick, twist them!

Anywhere nice in the Dales (my playground)

John

Hi

We put all poles in first and then pull the back set up first and then peg in guy ropes at the back for support. Then work your way to the front and peg in front guy ropes for support. Then fiddle about with pegs and ropes as normal. It feels as though you are doing it wrong because there is quite a bit of resistence but open the side doors and it should have it set up within half an hour.

PEACE AND LOVE IN A MONTY 6
