Hi, we only have one tent! Sad I know but I've been looking at the Touareg for short trips and for cooler times (so most of the year then) and wondered if those of you who have them, like them. What are the good and bad points, did you get the standard or SIG version. Help, tips and photos gratefully received.

I think they're a lovely little tent for summer camping

Seriously hanker for one!

But as said, the only one person who can give you some decent feedback is Miss E (think she has the SIG)

This picture converted me even more, stunning! But not a SIG

What happened to your pic Val? As already mentioned MissE is the one to answer your questions. She's away camping right now. The Touareg is a fabulous tent. A bit like Tardis in that it's much bigger inside than you think it is. The added bonus of having a door at each end is really neat.

This is not the best pic of such a lovely tent but it will do until Val can post her pic.

Thanks all for your help, will hope missE sees this post but think we might just get one, when they are back in at bell tent. Need the SIG to stop the dog hedgehog hunting at 3 in the morning. The pics look fab, and will hopefully be warmer, easier for short trips than the lovely 5m bell. Could perhaps use the Malu tarp to make a cooking porch too?

I'm not so sure it will be any warmer or quicker to pitch than a bell, but is a lovely airy summer tent

Hi, yes, I have the SIG version, and it's brilliant.  Easy to erect on my own.  It is heavy, but you will be used to that if you have a 5m Bell Tent.

Camped last February (with EHU) and it was lovely and warm and again this New Years Eve.  Have got the inner bedroom now though, just for a bit more warmth, but it is fine without. I love the front and rear doors.  I can have breakfast outside the East door and supper outside the West one.  Always in the sun.

Possible cons. are no windows and takes a lot of drying, but again you will already have those problems with a Bell Tent.  Can't think of anymore at the moment.  I think space wise, it is somewhere between the 5m and 4m Bell Tents.

Like all ridge tents headroom is quickly reduced away from the centre.

Thanks MissE and Safeway56. I love the idea of east and west doorways, sounds lovely. I really do love the bell tent. It got us back to tenting a couple of years ago, and we aim to go for many more trips this year now OH has sorted not working every Sunday. Thought the Touareg might be easier, probably not quicker to pitch Val, but perhaps, just maybe, I might not take quite so many glamping comforts. I do love camping in comfort, although so far the only thing I might leave behind with a Touareg would be the camping cupboard, which today got tarted up with stripey swallows! Will wait to see what bell tent say re delivery. We are off to Keld in April, and will happily take the bell but thought I'd like to try something different. However, do we really NEED another tent?

However, do we really NEED another tent?

How can you seriously ask that question on this site lol....I had none a year ago and now have 5....all for different reasons and trips, you understand....not at all because I fell in lust with them all and they were all such bargains

I know, need isn't really the issue but if this weather doesn't improve the only place a tent will be going up will be inside......so then the Touareg would be even better

Got one - hopefully it will arrive this week. Was going to wait, did debate if we 'needed' one, did the should we, shouldn't we, can we, can't we, where can I get one NOW, and finally when I found one in stock got so excited I just bought the blummin thing.
Can relax now
