Dunster House, a long established British company, is normally more well known for it's range of log cabins, summerhouses, climbing frames etc.

They are to launch a brand new make of caravan, the 'Stealth' to compete against the mainstream brands. The 'Stealth' will be revealed at the NEC Motorhome & Caravan Show in October 2009.

They have also launched a black and mysterious looking website, containing just a few snippets of info about the fantastically named Stealth caravan.

Read more about it in our article http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/articles/

Having the bathroom at the front is different, but may not be popular with people who like to see the view from a front lounge.  Sometimes its nice to sit with a cup of tea and watch the kids playing,  That would be hard with the lounge midship.

But I suppose we could sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.  I am looking forward to seeing them.

Trying to work out how the extra beds are made up?  Are they length ways and with bunks above?  It looks to me as if they pull across the width of the 'van meaning those in the fixed bed would have to clamber over them just to get to the door or toilet?  As a 2 person 'van it might work but i prefer to see out the front windows.

This does appear to have some welcome innovations, like the lack of side "graphics" to often used, particularly on motorhomes, to disguise a hotch-potch of windows, and a front end designed to divert the airlow sideways as well as vertically, rarely seeen on anything but Airstreams, as well as a number of sensible detail features.
However, as brianconwy notes, the limited vision from the lounge area (through heavily tinted windows) is unlikely to appeal to those used to an almost panoramic view. The roof appears to be flat, so one wonders where the rainwater might go, possibly through one of the four skylights? The nosecone is black "to avoid yellowing"; has yellowing been a major problem? All but the glossiest black finishes on vehicles seem to degenerate over time to a "tarmac grey" not a good colour on any vehicle, even a trailer, particularly when the front road lights seem to be mounted so low down.
So not for me, but it's good to see someone challenging convention.

not into caravans as prefer the MH, but black as a colour - do they intend it to be used in countries where they have sun. Have you ever got intot a black vehicle when the sun has been shininng. Someone has misse a few obvious things in the making of this vehicle.

If it is to draw attention to themselves or the make, this will certainly be the vehicle for that

But as the above post says, it's good to see someone challenging convention

Very stylish inside but more akin to a docklands penthouse apartment than caravanning. The outside is so unattractive and with no front window I find this caravan a definite turn off even if I did have the money to buy one! Not attractive and not practical. Imagine the state of that caravan after a few nights in "the field," leather sofas and removable carpets notwithstanding. I'd be interested in how well it sells though.

If you have a problem stressing you, sort it. If you can't, there's no point worrying about it coz it won't make a blind bit of difference!!!! Jules

Saw a couple of people signing up for one of these on Sunday and I did wonder why. The black looks awful close up, and if the nose cone 'yellows' what about the rest of the van? Didn't like the lack of front window, didn't go in as there was a huge queue and I wasn't that bothered but had a look through the window and it looked ok but not my ideal layout really. Each to their own I guess!

The new Glossy Silver Stealth nosecone front will be on display at the NEC Boat & Caravan Show in February 2010

Since Dunster House, a successful, long established British company launched the new ʻStealthʼ caravan at the NEC in October 2009, they have received mixed reviews on the unique black nose cone. Therefore to try to appeal to everyoneʼs needs, Dunster House have now launch a brand new glossy silver/grey nose cone alongside their existing black, which will be on display at the NEC Boat & Caravan Show, Stand 5205A in February 2010.

Production is successfully underway at Dunster Houseʼs Flixborough factory in preparation to meet delivery in the New Year for orders already placed since the previous show and looking forward to showing off their complete production models at the NEC in February.

“After a successful launch weʼll be showing Stealth again at the Boat and Caravan Show, stand 5205A and weʼll be launching our new Gloss Silver/Grey nosecone option to give choice to those who find our black nosecone too radical! The February show gives us the chance to show Production models rather than the pre-production models at the October show. Also the models on display in February will show the Graphite Grey internal doors, the alternative to the Indigo internal doors.”

Where can you buy the Stealth?

Dunster House has a unique approach to selling, in that they will be manufacturing and selling the caravans to consumers with no dealers. They can buy their caravan, at Caravan shows, phone, go online direct to the Stealth website or visit one of their showrooms in Bedford, Beds and Flixborough, near Sc**thorpe.

For added convenience – at home annual service and delivery optional The caravan can be delivered direct to your door or you can pick them up at the Flixborough site. At Dunster House, the delivery charge is optional, so if you collect it from the showsite, you make a saving. Plus for added convenience, Dunster House go to the customerʼs home and do the Annual service there rather than having to arrange delivery to the dealer – saving the customer time to enjoy their caravan
