Stayed at Roebeck Caravan park in Ryde This is the worst site i have ever stayed on I picked it because we were going to a wedding on the island and there was 4 adults and 1teenager in our party and they stated they had a new shower block but this consisted of just a shower curtain between you and the people waiting for the shower so when you came out naked to get your towel and get dried you was in full view of everyone so we all used the caravan shower for the whole stay they were also dirty.When we arrived they didn't even have a pitch for us even though we had booked 2 months earlier and paid in full so we had to pitch in the middle of the site. The site is sandwiched between to scrapyards witch have each got two cranes moving cars etc and revving their engines at 8 o' clock in the morning on the left hand side there is a number of old lorries parked. The site is littered with building materiel's rubbish cement mixers etc also if you don't like motorbike noise avoid Thursday nights because the speedway track is not far away and the noise is loud! the chemical waste is surrounded by building materials and if the cranes dont wake you up in the morning then the peacocks certainly will witch were kept in appalling conditions i might add take my advise go somewhere else

Best bet is to submit a review on the review of the site to help others in (not) choosing the site.

Sorry marksward about the size of the font i have already sumited a reveiw but they take time to be posted and didnt want anyone to make the same mistake i saved the reveiw in word then copied and pasted it on here suppose i should have asked the kids how to do it

Sorry to hear how horrible your stay was i have stayed at some fantastic sites on the island in the past and have to admit i have not heard of this one, I wonder why!

Sorry to hear you had such a bad time in IOW. Hope the review gets posted soon as we went to Whitecliff Bay this year but have already looked for a different site for next year and there is only one ok review for this site from last year. If there are not to many reviews on particular sites we fancy we always search the site on here aswell. You can always find some nice person who as visited a site and they will let you know what they think and if no one answers we avoid the site.

Better luck next time hope you find a really good site.

Hi, I'm sorry you had such a bad time. I've been to the IOW loads of times and never had a bad time or been on a bad site - we went to the one in Shanklin last time (think it may have been lower hyde but cant remember) and it was great.

Hi all thanks for all you posts i have been to the iow about 25 times since i was a kid we used to stay at Chilton Chine holiday camp wich is now the pearl centre also pamerston hall in Shanklin with the Boys Brigade when i was a kid Grange farm in Brighstone Lower Hyde in Shanklin so it peed me off that i got it wrong this time plus its ben a couple of years since my 2 daughters have come with us but they was great its all a learning curve and experience
