I am still absolutely stunned after my recent visit to this site. I go there four or five times a year normally, but due to the bad weather this year this was my first time in 2007.
The owners have recently changed, and the new ones are absolutely barking mad. They hate kids, hate to see people having a good time, hate everyone and everything I think.
They are really rude.
I've been camping my whole life and I've never had such an awful experience, and it's all down to attitude. Seriously, go elsewhere. I wouldn't risk getting on the wrong side of these nutters.

Yes, I'll give that one a try. I have seen it before but never stayed there.
I am still very cross about our treatment at Sea Palling. I am just amazed. Why be rude to a good customer?!? Bonkers.

just spent bank holiday weekend and the following few days at walnut farm. cramped to say the least - yes it was me who had to leave out the middle 4ft of my TT. 3 showers each with a toilet but 1 seperate toilet only - peak period you'd better be able to hold it!
i like space between ours and the neighbours but it was almost non-existant
yes the beaches at waxham, sea palling and horsey are great as is jerry who is friendly, but i felt like a sardine

Try "Walnut Farm" out of school/bank holiday times and you'll see a completely different picture (see my gallery)... Like most sites, it can get a bit busy during the peak periods, but don't let that put you off. It's a beautiful, peaceful place at other times...
The area is a haven for nature and birdlife too. I've watched Marsh Harriers, Cranes, Barn & Tawny Owls, Oyster Catchers all flying over and around "Walnut Farm" from my tent in the early morning and evening...
P.S. The picture was in June last year, so you can still 'stretch out' in the summer too!...

yes but with children i have no choice, i told him how big our TT was, on the phone and when we got there. several others i spoke to didn't like the lack of space or the toilet situation either - so it looks like it's a site as you say when the kids are at school

I'll post a review about the Sea Palling site later on.
Feeling like a sardine is great compared to the treatment we endured. Such a shame - the beaches are really great.
Can you tell I'm still seething?!? I should let it go and move on.....!

I don't go anywhere on the east coast south of Scarborough (I suppose that will upset lots of you).

What did they do to put me in this state, well.........
After arriving to find that the office was closed, and there was a sign saying 'when the office is closed go to the club house' - which was also closed, we waited half an hour - no-one showed up, so we went to the touring field and it was very quiet, so we picked a pitch and started setting up. Didn't put up the awning just in case they wanted us to move. Eventually, after four more visits to the office, we managed to find someone, who made a phone call and they found someone to check us in. She was obviously upset that we had gone to the touring field without checking in. A bit of an over-reaction, but never mind. We'll get over it.
Our friends join us for a BBQ lunch. We have a glass of wine while the children play.
All sounds alright doesn't it?
Then we are asked to pack up and leave.
I'm amazed and left absolutely speechless by this. I have no idea what we've done. Apparently going to the touring field without checking in is 'discourteous', regardless of how long we have to wait. That seemed to be the main gripe.
While the three kids were playing, one fell over and hurt his head (he cried). Apparently children crying is against site rules. I mean, this wasn't bad - he cried for a minute or two, then carried on playing - normal kids stuff.
I have never experienced anything like it. You might think that maybe we are all a bit rough, noisy, and maybe we deserved it?!? Nothing of the sort. Of the four adults there at the time, three are company directors and one is a radiologist!!!!!
They are simply mad - bonkers. I am still absolutely at a loss to explain what they did or why they did it. It just seems remarkably petty?!?

Sounds very familiar- I think your friends have told this story in another thread, but in less detail. It sounded bad when they told it, but this is terrible! No wonder you're seething. Won't be going there!

Yes, we mostly go to the west or south west, or Ireland. Don't like big flat beaches at all although Camber Sands isn't bad. Clacton is our nearest seaside and I refuse to go there.
