No idea, never been there but does seem a bit odd not wanting reviews, especailly as a good review would get people flocking there. On the other hand, they may not have anything to hide they just might not want to tae the chance of someone writing something bad.
We have just returned from a weekend at the lillies. It really annoys me that they won't let us review the site, because I really have something to say, so I'll say it here. My guess is that they got some less than positive reviews and didn't like it.
Positives:
Very clean throughout.
People staying here were very pleasant and quiet
Good location for exploring the south coast
Some good areas for children to play (not that we have any)
Negatives:
The proprietor could not have been less helpful nor more rude. This would really put me off staying here again and I would recommend all others to beware! There were 3 parties staying that said the same thing without being prompted. It is a real shame, but in some ways the attitude of the lady running this site spoilt the weekend for me. We were not rude, nor loud, nor did we upset any other party on the site. She was just rude to everyone at any possible occasion.
It is also close to a railway line, which was a little noisey throughout the night.

Perhaps I'm being a bit dim but how exactly do you stop reviews being written about a site?
I don't think you can, unless the Webmaster agrees not to carry any for that site........... ?? Webbie - why do you take any notice of these people who don't like their sites being talked about?
Unfortunatley in the past some sites have threatened legal action unless reviews were removed (i don't know if this is the case with this one though)
Yep, spot on Loops. Really dont see what the problem is though. If a site will not allow reviews from members then I think we can draw our own conclusions about whether we'd visit it
I remember the first site to ask for removal, they were certainly not very pleasant about it and indeed did threaten to take Webby and ratty to court amongst several other unpleasant comments and e-mails. At that time I agreed that the chaps had no choice but to remove the sites revues and still think that they should react in this manner. If a site listing states that no revues will be published then that says it all for me. I have never known any decent company refuse free advertising and especially when it is proffered by those who have used their products, will always sound very suspicious to me and will always deter me from using them as well!
I would also like to add that there are very few sites who have that sort of attitude and indeed I am glad to say that all of the sites I have stayed at have been delighted to get a revue on ukcampsite.co.uk from myself as well as getting one on my own site. I am glad to say that the majority of camp site owners are indeed all for us enjoying ourselves and use the minimum amount of rules in order to make that possible for us all!
On the other hand it is our duty as members of ukcamsite.co.uk to present the facts as they are and not to go ff on one when doing a site revue. The more constructive a revue is the better the chance of its inclusion on this site and the better informed the rest of us will be when looking for somewhere to stay.
I am sure we all agree that the revues on this site are second to none and that Ian and Steve do a fantastic job of keeping this section of the site up to date and as fair as they possibly can for both site owners and campers alike!
May the good sites last forever and the not so good learn from their revues!
------------- Still alive and kicking!

I think it does mean though we should be careful and not write reviews when our 'blood is still up' but wait and until we feel balanced and try and be objective. I have a site that I absolutely loathed this summer but I am aware that many people would like this sort of site. I think I should write a review but I will need to be careful to be fair... and put my views in context. It is people's livelihood after all...

I came across this site recently, when searching for a postcode for routeplanner, as there was a C&CC rally in a field opposite. I thought, 'that looks a nice site'. then I saw no reviews and wouldn't consider it. If no reviews are allowed its obvious to me that they have something to hide.
