Hi all,

I’m looking to purchase an aerial to plug into my laptop via a free view digital USB wosit (not sure of the correct term and I’m sure someone will let me know). Any recommendations. My unit is either a trailer tent or regular tent. I’m not sure if the indoor ones work that well plus most of them have built in amplifiers that need a socket. Have spotted some cheap deals on ebay, about £30, for an outdoor aerial, cable, pole and fixing clamp.

I know these USB plug in things need a strong aerial signal to work so need to know what’s my best bet.

This is a good one for everyone,I was camping last week and i needed a aerial,I was in the local morrisons supermarket and assistant said they didnt sell them,So next door was a b&q superstore the only aerials they had was the big outdoor ones,They had one on display for £20 i thought that was ok and you got all the fitting's and cable and the aerial on display was not that big.

I got to the camp site to put it together and the display model was only showing half of it.lol

This it the model of it,You need to add another part (the spike part on the long arm you need to add about the same length again to the end)

i purchased a small 7" tele for the tent, any advice about better aerial  that we got with tele, as picture is not brilliant

I use a one for all amplified antenna, it plugs in and you can adjust the amplification. I usually just put it inside a carrier bag and leave it just inside the doorway of the tent. Usually get a signal no matter where we go.

Be afraid, be very afraid putting that up, you must remember that some people dont like windbreaks over 30cm high so who knows what effect that'll have

Thanks for all of the feedback people. I have ordered a SLX Gold digiTop Amplified High Performance Indoor TV Aerial 27769R from Amazon. It came out as the best perfoming aerial on the official digital TV website. Fingers crossed it performs well for me!
