In the tent info forum on here theres 3 members looking for the same carpet for a Marista 700. Might have been better posting here but anyway it might be nice if we can help them out. Like others I have searched but cant see one let alone 3. So any ideas on an alternative or how to make one to fit? Seems they all brought the tent from GO in the sale and as per usual Go have no accessories to go with it as its discontinued. Geoff
Ive got a couple of ideas but I know theres some carpet experts on here so hopefully they will see this or their posts

Thanks for the help Geoff,

Hi gear corado 8 carpet would be great if anyone has one or knows of one for sale?

Does anyone know of any manufactures who sell this material? even its got to be bought by the roll?

I am sure there's a chance we could get a few people together to possibly make this a more cost affective option then a £150.00 some people have been quoted for a custom carpet.

Thanks for your help!

Last year we bought a Coleman carpet - about £25 ish - far to big for our Oakland XL and set about measuring living area first, then had enough to make 2 runners for the bedroom.  Took a lot of patience and room!  I just pinned and machined it into shape with an edging tape (Hobbycraft) - having said that other members said that they just got some sticky edging tape and just ironed it on and worked perfectly.

So just a thought - but you do have to have patience as they are rather large - good luck with that!

Thanks Floppy-Poppy,

I ordered a carpet a few days ago which hopefully is too long with the same idea in mind, cut off the bottom and attach to the side which should work. To be honest I had no idea how to finish the edges of the carpet but thanks to your help I am off to hobby craft tomorrow.

I will keep you all up dated on how this goes once the carpet arrives.

Hi just to let you know I am sorted now,

I picked up my Vango Salonga Carpet, bought from go outdoors today.

The description on the website is poor and is actually a salonga 900 carpet which is massive!!!

living area is 5m x 4.5m on this tent, Bought for only £43.97 delivered.

This is only 20cm too narrow but far too long. Just going to tuck the extra length underneath the bedrooms but it should work!!

Could be an option and not too expensive

Stocks were limited to instore only last time I looked

I didn't know tent carpets existed until I started reading more posts here recently.

We got a course 'ethnic' rug from a carboot sale for £2 & it covers most of our groundsheet in our TNF Trailhead 8. It doesn't slide around. It'll never wear out but if we ever change it we'd maybe get a cheapie from Ikea or somesuch. I keep meaning to get a reindeer hide for winter car camping in the small 1/2 person tent for under the kip mat.

Is wall to wall fitted carpet really necessary in a tent?

I read somewhere (probably on here), that some people are using the cheap foil backed picnic rugs, as carpets. They are both cheap and warm, the foil backing keeps the cold out ( but don't quote me on that me old mucker).

Personally i don't use anything on the inside of the tent, due to having the dogs coming in and out all the time, it would be a mess in no time.

Ha ha! :-)

Sounds feasible to me, sir, but if you check my posting history (I wouldn't if I were you!), you'll find that not only am I no scientist, I'm barred from discussing anything foil related, too!
