Having been recommended by many people on here i recently purchased a double coleman comfort airbed.
We went away on 2 weeks holiday and after setting the van up we set up the kids sleeping stuff, they sleep inside a pup tent in a bedroom annexe which has a breathable groundsheet for protection from the ground. We inflated the airbed and put it straight into the tent. We were impressed how quickly it went up. When the kids went to bed that night unfortunately the bigger chamber had deflated. It had a puncture on the flock, top side. As i had taken the bed out of its packing for ease of carriage i realised that i had left the repair kit at home. Caused us a few problems but managed to find another repair kit, managed to repair and all was well for the remaining 12 days.
Spoke to a few people while on site and was amazed how many people had had problems with punctures. I am extremely annoyed that a new item was faulty but as we were 250 miles from where we purchased i could not return. I am going to contact coleman to see what they have to say but would like to give them some feedback if there is a problem so could you tell me, if you have a Coleman, if you are satisfied or if you have had a problem. Thanks...........
we had a problem with ours when we were down in cornwall a fortnight ago ours was the doulble height one,but our middle chamber popped which we were very disappointed at we had to but another when down there.we took it back when we got home and they gave us a full refund but we felt very let down by coleman as they r suppossed to b the best beds.do u have a contact numba for coleman as i was thinking of ringin them or email
Just having a nosy at their website and spotted how they describe the bed.I dont think its quite accurate lol.
The Comfort Bed Double combines extra comfort with reliability. Featuring the exclusive Airtight® system that includes a patented Double Lock™ valve. Additional benefit is the durable PVC which is highly puncture resistant.
We have three 'Coleman Comforts', two singles and a double, they've been used on and off (like to use a camp beds and 'Airics' in colder months) for three years with no problems...
2 coleman comforts, a single & a double and both used for last couple of years no problems at all, kids have jumped all over them and still have stayed inflated....shame you were let down and hope you get it sorted.
I bought a double one for our holiday in Dorset and Devon, during August.
It did go down slightly after a couple of days but I put that down to it being new and perhaps stretching slightly. Pumped it back up and it was fine for the next 10 days.
It was the best airbed we have ever used, to the point where my wife reckons it is more comfortable than our bed at home and that is almost new and cost over £2K!!

i say the same but hubby disagrees.each to their own opinion. we had no problems on our first trip and it stayed inflated for 4 days but on our last trip i noticed it needed inflating after the first night.i still think its a fab airbed
I have taken 2 doubles back in 2 weeks, again the main chamber deflated but I couldn't find a puncture. I really hope when I buy the next one's they fair better although I have been investigating Aerobeds.

Skatty, what's the secret to getting the coleman set up right, I can't seem to get both chambers to be the same firmness, one of us ends up in the air or on the ground, not always me on the ground (the heavier one) and it takes a lot of deflating / inflating to get comfy, whereas our normal boxed sided airbed is fine if when I inflate it I can just feel the floor when sat on it.
I have 2 doubles and 1 single. Both doubles are just over 1 year old and used twice. Last month both doubles developed puntures. I was a bit fed up, but there's nothing else on the market, so i repaired.
We have had 2 lots- each time a double. On the first one there was a leak on the small chamber after about 6 months, and we got a full refund from Go Outdoors as this was within the 2 year guarrantee period. The second one developed a leak on the big chamber, again within the guarrantee period but unfortunately we had not kept the receipt in a safe place, so could not prove purchase and were not able to get a refund.
Now we have gone for an Aerobed and are very pleased.
I did find the Coleman comfortable - the trick we found was that the larger of us (Dick) needed to be on the larger chamber - if we slept the other way round he kept rolling off the small chamber because the difference in our weights meant that I was too light to keep the "edge" around him inflated.
And as for getting the pressure right, I just kept testing with my hand whilst pumping, and stopped pumping when it was still bouncy rather than rock-hard.
..........................And now I am struggling to keep my smutty mind in its cage, having just read back that last sentence......
