It's that time again.  We've booked for the Easter Weekend!!!

Can anyone recommend a good electric fan heater?

We have an Outwell Nevada XL, and I do have an Outwell Fan Heater M, but the tent's too big for this heater to keep warm.  I'm thinking of running two heaters to keep the chill out...?

Any advice much appreciated.

We have one of these...............

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Delonghi-HTE332-3-Fan-Heater-3kW-2-Heat-Settings-/360330074075?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Hearing_Cooling_Air&hash=item53e55897db

Its 3kw and makes the tent really warm quickly. Only problem is you need a 16 amp power supply to run it on setting 2 as the heater will pull around 12.5 amps. A lot sites do have 16 amp supply, including C&CC club sites and CC club sites. If the site has a 10 amp supply, then use it on setting 1 which is 1.5 kw.

I have a Stratos TT with a large awning and the heater keeps it lovely and warm even early in the season especially on full power. great little heater.

Hope this helps

Andy

Thanks Andy, I've just bought one.  Much appreciated.

Got it at airconcentre.co.uk (cheapest with delivery for non-refurbished)

I also invested in a Carpet for my Nevada XL after reading other posts.  Cheapest I could find was with valuetents.co.uk.  Go Outdoors could do the 10% pricematch but didn't have any stock.

Here's hoping it doesn't snow at Easter.....

Thanks again.

Bit late now but you might have been better off with a 2000w heater. The 3000w will surely blow a 10 amp supply as suggested and the majority of campsites are 10 amp. If the second heat setting on that heater is only 1.5 amp then it obviously won't be as hot as a 2000w one.

...and you certainly won't be able to run two heaters unless you pay for an extra supply.

You are right, 3kw does trip a 10 amp supply. However, on the lower power setting, it is still 1500 watts and it does give out plenty of heat. There are lots of sites with 16 amp supplies to be able to run the heater on full.

I picked up a 2kw crown heater reduced from £30 to £9.99, variable heat settings. Not bad at all.

The thing is,you have to watch how much power you are drawing and the amperage that each of your appliances require so as not to trip the breakers on site,3Kw is around 13amp and most sites are a maximum of 10amp (think the maths was right.).
