I recently bought an Aerobed Active to replace our Coleman Comfort dual chamber bed ( yes I know we all love em but we have had 2 irrepairable leaks in 2 different ones now so we have gone off em a bit). It was quite a lot of pennies (£69.99) but so far it has proved to be excellent. It inflates with its own pump in 60 seconds, and really is as comfy as the Coleman and feels tougher than it in terms of the materials. It is so quick to inflate and deflate, and comes in it own stuff sac too. The pump has UK and European chargers and a lead so it can operate from the cig lighter socket in the car.

I registered the guarrantee on-line and now the company have emailed me  to tell me about a summer discount of 33% they are offering. This is because it is a new product and they want to get some reviews for "research". Their email said I could pass the info on to family and friends.......well I think that means YOU!!

To see the aerobed active in action, follow this link HERE

The discounts for the single means instead of Retail price: £49.99 you pay £33.33, and instead of £69.99 for the double you pay £46.66

And if you want one from them at this discount price, you can navigate from the link above to the part of their site for making purchases, and when asked for it you need to give the discount code "ukcampsite".

This offer is on until the end ofthe month - 31 August. So I hope someone on here benefits from this, cos I had to pay full price!!

I take it you find the aerobed comfy?

We're currently contemplating buying a double height coleman queen, but have also seen these aerobeds too.

We're currently using 10cm robens self-inflating mats that give us dead arms/legs!

I know some people have had problems with the Coleman Comforts but personally I find the dual chamber build the key feature of this double bed.

Fortunately we haven't had any trouble with ours, but it's so important to our enjoyment of camping that we bring a spare with us just in case!

Thanks for the excellent offer foggers, but this man is not for turning

It is as comfy as my very expensive Sealy pocket sprung mattress at home - and I have a lumbar problem so the quality of my bed is very important for my health and happiness!

I know what you mean about the dead-arm effect - we tried the Roben's 10cm mats and they have that effect on my OH. They were okay for me but I wanted us to sleep on the same level so we upgraded to the Coleman dual chamber, but we have had 2 let us down so we have now swapped to the aerobed. We thought about the queen type beds too but the double height meant it may not fit due to the way our bedroom slopes in on one side.

That was why the aerobed fitted the bill - comfort and super speedy operation.

Interesting.

How did you get rid of your robens mats or have you still got them?

Hi

Brilliant - I need a new airbed - and I have always liked the look of Aerobeds as it would be a good spare bed to have at home too.  Thanks for posting the discount!!

One question tho - could it also be pumped up with a manual pump - if the pump broke or you forgot it?

Thanks

Ange

I got an AeroBed for our camping trip to the Pyrenees in 2 weeks - and counting!!! - Have just used it on a trip to North Wales and have to say it was excellent - make sure you charge the pump beforehand (24 hours for first trip) - ever so comfortable, even changed my wife's views on camping beds!

Comment to Ange - it cannot be pumped up with a manual pump but it comes with the re-chargeable pump included - best part is that it pumps up in about a minute - no more foot pumps or blue faces!

Comment to itguy - be careful with the Coleman big height bed as you either need to get the electric motor or buy one of their battery pumps and it will be time to go home before the thing is blown up - my mate had one but he has changed to the AeroBed since seeing mine - just wish I had got the discount :(

great - thanks for the replies.

We were lucky enough to have friends in the village here who have an aerobed original and they let us borrow it on monday night - we had a great nights sleep!!

We ordered one of the double 'active' ones but then we found on the website that the premier cotton king was on offer - half price! We were going to buy the active with a cotton cover for £20 extra, and in the end we swapped our order over to the premier cotton king as it comes with a cover and is only £15 more.

Now can't wait to get it!!

Still got the Robens mats as they are handy for when we take my niece and nephew camping - they find them really comfy, but them they aren't Sumo sized like me n Dick! I have found an additional use for them in recent weeks too - my lumbar problem has flared up and the Robens mat is ideal for laying flat on the lounge carpet whilst watching telly!

I've just ordered one too!

Thanks for the code!

BTW I emailed Aerobed to ask about pumps:   As long as you have the right connections on the foot pump, I can’t see any reason why not, although it would take longer and may not be as firm.

Managed to return our robens mats to go-outdoors, great service from them.

Hopefully our bed will arrive tomorrow so we can try it over the w/e!!
