I'm on the search for a BBQ.l It needs to be on fairly long legs when assembled - just between knee and waist height, but the legs need to come off to pack away. I'd like to to have adjustable cooking positions (the sort where you can adjust the grill to about three different positions, and preferably with a 'small grill tray' that fits across the top.
I've actually had one of these in the past - an oblong shape, which is actually like a little metal case (forming the base and back of the BBQ) and all the bits fit in the 'case' for carriage. I can't seem to find them at all at the moment. At present, I have something similar, but its now old, and I don't think the legs will last for much longer.
If anyone knows where I might get something like this from please do let me know. I want a traditional charcoal BBQ (not gas or electric), but am now past the stage of grovelling on the floor to barbecue. I like to sit comfortably in my chair!!
I would be so grateful for information leading to a purchase.
Many thanks,

If any manufacturer ever takes it upon themselves to make a 'proper' briefcase BBQ like the one my Dad used to have, they would clean up!! It had legs that just slotted into the base (no screws to mess about with), the lid was held open by side panels that had numerous slots and holes for the grill, top rack (essential for keeping things warm and cooking chicken!) and spit (you've not eaten lamb until you've had welsh lamb, so fresh it was running round the mountain opposite your campsite 2 weeks ago, spit roasted!), and the whole lot, including a set of tools, folded up neatly into itself just ready to drop into the front locker!! Unfortunately, practical, usable BBQs like this are like hen's teeth these days - all the manufacturers seem to think we want industrial gas cookers or something you can only cook 3 sausages on!
..... Maybe we should launch our own range of UKCS 'real' BBQs?!!!!!

About 18x12x6in deep?...legs folded up within the lip of the base?...side plates held lid open & carried the grill mesh?...Tools stored inside?..
Yeah, that sounds just like the one I had back in the early 80s!(..and I really don't know what ever happened to it?!?)
I did see something very similar a couple of years back(probably at a B&Q/Focus/Argos)..however it was very flimsy in comparison and no where near as well put together..
Let us all know if anyone finds one...
Edit:This is similar to the "flimsy" one I came across....not as tall as you're after though...
