Make wise... Fox, Korum, Wychwood, Chub, JRC, Nash, Shakespeare are all good makes.
I have a Wychwood one for fishing and also use it for camping. I've had it 3 years, used and abused it week in week out in all weather and it's still going strong.
There are plenty of big chaps who carp fish, so there will be no trouble with the weight rating. They are made for high use and should last a long time.
The more expensive ones will be better made and will use lighter materials like aluminuim instead of steel. Still very strong, but far lighter.
The mechanism on the adjustable legs will also be better on more expesnsive models.
They will all fold flat for transporting. Best thing is to find a decent size local tackle shop and go and try them out for comfort and height adjustment.
There are some that are called 'daddy long legs' which have legs that extend to make them higher than normal for any very tall people. Mine is a normal one and I'm 6 ft 2 and have no problem with the height.
