Have been trying to decide on which type of lantern.
Battery:- could get expensive
Rechargeable:- May run out, especially if EHU not available.
Fuel:- could be dangerous for the kids

Seen this

http://www.outdoorworld.org.uk/highlander-rechargeable-lantern-p-2652.html?osCsid=11ceb893d469f6fa6d66e7a1ece91165

One that takes normal & rechargable batteries. So that you can recharge the unit.
Best of both worlds I thought!!??.. hmmmm

But have never heard of it before..
Can anybody enlighten me

Hi,

Have you thought about purchasing a wind-up one, safe with the kids, no fuel, no batteries, no ehu required.  Ummmmm..... what do you think?

good hunting,  Paul

How about a battery operated light and use rechargeable batteries? Get a charger that operates from car 12v and plenty of batteries. We use AA NiMH 2600mAH. Very versatile - works in cameras torches, walkie talkies, toys.... www.7dayshop.com is quite reasonable.

Can get flourescent lamps, batterry operated from Wilkinsons and the like.

Thanks,

Gavin

No, No, NO!

There is literally nothing better out there than a UFO style light.

The number of LEDs varies, averaging 20 - 48

Our first one was and still is solar powered - just haven't been able to find another.

Netto had battery operated ones this week for £3.99.

Ebay have them all the time for about £8 inc postage - click here

They are compact, BRIGHT, and can be hung without that shadow that ordinary battery operated lanterns cast over the very area you want to light up.

I have two of the UFO lights(48 bulb) one for the bed pod and one for the living area although they are so light you can put them anywhere..
I have had a god 30-35 hrs out of mine it does depend on what batteries you put in them, and they are very bright..

I would but more but I dont need them lolol

I hang mine on a belt so i have the light low to rea dwhilst im in bed and can turn it off easily
