I think it's very similar to Camping Cheques - in that you can only use them low season - not PEAK SEASON which is very short in France. Most of these 'discounts' are available up until early July and again from mid-August on some sites. At one time, when the 'organistions' such as the Caravan Club, or Caravanning and Camping Clubs offered 'vouchers' these were the only way of obtaining discounts, they were a great idea - now there are so many competitors. As David Klyne says, a combination of Camping Cheques, Touring Cheques, and an ACSI card will take you all over Europe, at minimum prices and give you a huge range of sites. At Cambrils Park (as an example) a pitch for two, including electricity, will cost 25 euros lowest price and 39 euros highest price, in low season, using Camping Cheques it will cost 14 euros in both these periods, so you could save between 11 and 25 euros per night! Quite a saving!
We've had some great sites with all three - but this year found a real horror of a site with ACSI - good reviews, but a most depressing place when we actually got there. Generally all sites are of a really good standard.

We had the Freedom Camping vouchers last year and this year. Last year we only used it on 1 site and just about got our money back, but it was a nice site.
I wouldn't have bought them this year but for the fact that we were going to camping Lazy Rancho in Interlaken, and they accepted them this year.
We stayed on that site for 10 nights, and saved about £3.50 a night, so well worth it. But each site is different, on some sites you may not save much.
Another thing I noticed about the scheme was that quite a few sites are also in the ACSI scheme: Camping Hortus in Sully-sur-Loire, Les Andelys and another site in the Loire, the name of which escapes me.
There are not a lot of sites in the Freedom scheme, personally I would take the ACSI card in preference, but we are thinking of going back to Lazy Rancho next year, and if they still accept them, (this year they didn't take ACSI, only the Freedom vouchers)I will of course get them, thrifty person that I am
