Have you found out local supermarkets, as well as opening times. We came unstuck last year late on the first night (a saturday) when we realised the shop I had plugged into the satnav wasn't open on Sundays!

Maybe your car is less than 3 years old, if not you need an MOT certificate.

I didn't know about MOT certificate either. Doesn't list on AA website I don't think?

I borrowed our Son's recently purchased Garmin sat nav which automatically turned of it's speed camera alerts when we entered France.

On returning to UK the speed camera alerts had to be manually turned back on.

Not only is this a handy feature, but also prevents accidental turn on of the speed camera alerts whilst you are in France, nod nod.

Although you cannot use speed camera alerts on sat navs in France, you can download alerts for safety zones. The safety zones are where the speed cameras are located. So at least you know to be aware; but of course if you not speeding then why need speed camera alerts anyway.

You don't need your MOT certificate.

Definitely take a roll of duck/duct tape. Amazing what you can bodge fix with it. Even seen it used as a tow rope !

All the advice I have read on UKCS lists the MOT, and this link to the AA lists it
here.

On the other hand I might be totally wrong!

That's your car insurance certificate.

It's only a piece of paper so if anyone is concerned take it with you. You don't need one though and I didn't want anyone already abroad panicking.

I had a company car for years and never saw a copy of an MOT.....went straight from garage to lease company.
