Hello, i have just taken out breakdown cover with driverguardian.co.uk a company that somebody recommended on here.Driver Guardian have given me this code to put on the forum 'UKCAMPSITE312'.
This code takes the annual cost down from £79 to £69 for the year covering the car & a caravan/trailer.
Hope other people find this useful
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
They are worth a look if you have a small caravan, folding camper or trailer. There is a width restriction on anything you tow so wont be ideal for everyone.
We called them out a few weeks ago in the uk and they use small independent recovery companies so I guess it will be like that abroad too - having said that we've had a breakdown in France before when we used the AA and they sent out a small independent tow truck too!
It also only covers the caravan/trailer when connected to the car when it breaks down, so not that good if you're out and about and your outfit is still on the campsite.
Bertie isnt that the only time when you would need the cover or have i overlooked something? I thought with a caravan or folding camper/trailer it would only breakdown due to a problem when travelling?
what about when you are having day trips ad out sight seeing or shopping? Its the car that gets covered and teh towing vehicle when it's attached - unless you've found something I don't know about.
I e-mailed them to question if the caravan was covered and they confirmed it is, will check about the recovery truck ferry costs but presumably you would be able totransfer your booking to whenever it needed to come home?
It says this in the terms and Conditions:-
The Vehicle You are travelling in must carry a serviceable
spare tyre and wheel, and a key that will let Us remove a
wheel secured by wheel nuts for the Vehicle, caravan or
trailer, if it is designed to carry one.
