How did you get stains off your awning? Ours got very dirty in France this summer from under trees, the roof and the sides of the annex but when we read the cleaning instructions it advised only to use water or brush off when dry. I think the 'dirt' was dust washed off the trees during rain. Needless to say this didn't work. It was the first time the annex had been up and it came down after a week and was filthy!
Hi,
The awning was a Dorema All Season and it was quite literally green when we got it. (It should have been blue)
To begin with we used Fabsil Universal Cleaner which worked well and removed 95% of the gunge.
I then attacked local areas with a tooth brush and a more concentrated solution, which again improved the situation a bit.
When Mrs UM was not looking I had a further go with Jif mixed with a bit of Milton and then well rinsed.
This did get all but the last traces of it off. I then re-sealed the awning with a proprietary spray.
Please however do not follow my example with the Jif and Milton, as I am reckless and foolhardy and generally a very poor role model when it comes to fabric care.
