Caravan Club Towcar of the Year 2011

The 2011 awards saw 19 manufacturers enter 35 vehicles into the awards - all of which were rigorously tested. The results of the 2011 Competition were announced at The Caravan Club Towcar of the Year Awards ceremony at the Royal Automobile Club in London on 23rd September.

The Skoda Superb Estate Elegance 2.0 TDI CR took the top honour in its price class and went on to be voted overall winner.

They do indeed.

The Superb is a great car though a bit big for my needs.  However the winning car has the same engine as my Octavia vRS.  I can vouch for it being an excellent engine for towing.

I bet it was about 12 months ago, nelmo!

The TCOTY title will be used by the winning manufacturers as a marketing tool for the next 12 months. No-one's interested in 2010 in September - eyes turn to the next new thing.

Now all the car manufacturers have to do is train their dealer staff to actually understand what a "tow car" is and what it can legally and safely tow...
