Somewhere on my internet travels over the last month, I've seen a really good checklist of what to equip your caravan with or what to take on a caravan trip - starting with the caravan keys and finishing with the beer
I'd thought it was on here but I can't find any reference to it - I can find the really sensible basic equipment one, but this one branched out into pegs for washing, binbags, potato peelers and bottle openers, via awnings and airers, sleeping bag liners and toilet chemicals....
Have you seen one? Or do you have a spreadsheet that you can't leave the house without checking off?
Yes, we bought the Lunar! We pick it up a week on Saturday and I'm making lists/sub lists and uber-lists like a madwoman! Of course, that would be the week that Mr WR starts a new job on Monday so will be thoroughly unavailable to discuss important things like which herbs and spices he'd consider important (um, chilli powder and tomato ketchup ).
Annoyingly, the storage place about quarter of a mile away at the bottom of our road has told me they don't take caravans over 12 years old - ours is a 1998 van. I did try to tell them that it perhaps hadn't quite turned 13 yet, but they weren't buying that line

And not one mention about the booze.
It's on there, honest! Last item in the food list, though they suggest buying it there, which I think is a dangerous approach - it's always worth having some in, just in case!

Woo Hoo!
Well done you! You will love it!
Shame about the storage site. I thought they only had that rule for statics. We have been at two storage sites(moved to a cheaper better one). Both have caravans from the time of Noah. The manager at the first one said that one owner hadn't even been there to see his van for 5 years, and wouldn't be able to find it if he came, as they had moved it twice. It was ancient and completely bright green with moss all over, but as long as they kept getting their money every year they were quite happy to let it stay.

Oh come on you lot who else missed it till i mentioned boozebet you were all going down that list a line at a time.
You know I'm not sure whether I should admit it, but despite being nearly six months pregnant, "beer" was the first thing I typed into the "Find" box when I went to that page How shameful!
I have a list I could post on here but it does not include beer/wine. I like lists to work from when we go away but there are somethings I just don't need to put on the aide memoire as the memory is still alive and kicking and I can remember some stuff without a checklist!!!
If you would like my list just say and I will post it....add your own booze.
Phil

It is a bit exciting :-) It seems to have taken over life a bit, though, and I'm sure we used to talk about other things! Mr WR has only been home ten minutes and our only two conversations so far have been about the necessity or otherwise of having a CaSSOA registered storage site, and whether you have to buy a special low voltage toaster and kettle!
We moved from a CaSSOA Gold storage to a non CaSSOA because the non CaSSOA storage offered hard standing instead of grass and 365 days access instead of Summer only unless by arrangement. The non CaSSOA is also 40% cheaper BUT our insurance premium went up by 30% even though the CaSSOA Gold place had a record of break-ins and the new place didn't and has CCTV etc!
Regarding toasters and kettles, if you are hooked up you can get away without low power devices, as long as you don't overload your hook up. If you are on a rally or at a site without hook up you may be better off using gas for the kettle and the grill for toast, conserving your battery. We use gas for kettle and grill for toast all the time. We carry 2 x 6Kg propane bottles for all year round operation and one of these seems to last ages.
