I have just bought my first touring van a 1983 windrush 13 ft 2 berth but thats all I know is there any one out there with any idea about it's history etc.
cheers that means mine could actually be older that i thought as the person i bopught it from only had a rough idea. I don't suppose you have any idea how to know the age a bit better.
hi there, when we bought our caravan a coachman we emailed them the chassis number and they sent us details of the exact year and model of the van, dont know if that any help to you.
Plastic windows with the effect of 'top openers' moulded in was a feature of this van in the early 80's
It should have a Carver Mk1 water heater, feel under the tank on the floor plate and you should find a small piece of black paper taped to the plate, be careful it rips easily. This is the test certificate and it is dated.
Cheers gary i will try and have a look for this. although i don't know if i will find it im taking it out next week so will have a good luck and let you know.
Hello there louby - was pleased to see someone else with a windrush - we have had ours now for about 12 months and thoroughly enjoy it. If yours is anything like ours then I can confirm that it is a 1982 as we have the original sales documentation for our old girl. If you want I can sort some more piccies out.
it does look like my van, thanks for the pics if you hany more i would love to see them.
Do you know the size of awning, noticed you have one on yours? As i want an anwing, i know how to measure but have heard so many people say they have had to take theres back to ths shop several times as they have been given the wrong type or size etc. would be greatfull if you know the details of yours.
I will try ang get some pics of mine shortly and send them to you.
Have managed to upload a couple more piccies of the "Old girl". As far as the awning is concerned it was a bit of a fluke really. We saw an add in the local Trade-it that simply said awning to fit 13 foot caravan. We went and had a look, the guy was only asking £25 so we bought it. He and his wife had really looked after it and when we got it home all we needed to do was reproof it and replace a few guy lines for windows etc. The best advice I could give would be to go to a dealer but if you can take your van with you. Next time our awning is out of the bag I will check what details are on the label - you never know there may be something.
Would be very interested in seeing pics of your van - you don't see many of them around.
hi,only information i have is for a (from the book)cotswold windrush 132/2 - 1988.length = 12ft.2in / width = 6ft.3in / unladen weight = 15 cwt / max gross = 18 cwt / maker in business = no,bought out by the swift group in 1989 / contact swift group = tel .01482-847332.to identify = cotswold used its own numbering system, although after 1985 check out the syspal chassis number or try swift who should have the seial number records
