hi all,has anyone try'd to remove any light scratches from the plastic windows with some off the scratch polish thats on the market and which is the best one and any tips would be a great help.
You could try the scratch removers as already mentioned, or you could go all out and get the very fine specialist sanding cloths, a suitable drill and spend hours 'buffing up' the window, but unless the scratches are severe or really do annoy you then i would just live with them, you could make the problem much worse than it is already if you are not extremely careful.
yes you are right.. it does annoy me i try not to look at it but then my eyes are drawn to it every time i look out the window lol.but it does not bother the wife or kids just me..every time we go away they all say to each other "anytime now" and with out fail i say "that dam scratch must do something about it..
hi michael thanks for the post back iam going to get some fenwicks so i can get it done this weekend see my post tonight (the things we keep putting off)will have a small go tomorrow with the toothpaste..minty fresh ok lol
thanks phil,do you end up with any buff mark's as you are taking off a layer off plastic,i do not want to take it look any worse as it is,its about 4in long and not very deep,if all fail's i will have to get a uk camp site sticker to put over it
Hi, I find that it easily removes scratches obtained when driving too close to bushes etc. I've used Duraglit whenever required for the past 6 years and there seems to be no adverse effects. Once you have rubbed the scratch with the wadding, you should let it dry thoroughly and then polish off with a yellow duster. The surface comes up like new quite clear, As I said earlier, deeper scratches need a bit of extra work on them, often a second application the following day is sufficient.
