got mine at the caravan show last year. the van was clean, dry, musty smell and condensation free and snug. I say yes to a cover, but entirely up to you. its also good on a security note. By the time they've undone all the tags, pulled it off and got to the other devices they'll either be bored or caught! A van is more noticable with a hulking big green or grey cover on it on the road.

Yes I have one, it saves ours from the oil residue from the heating and water duct, the van lives on the drive, we put it on after every outing, once we have cleaned the van. So we use ours all year round, I wouldn't be without it
I have had a tailor made breathable cover from Associated Accessories for over five years now and I cannot fault it. I would certainly buy another if I change my present van.
Most of the people who cry them down have never had one, or they have only ever had a cheap one

Our tourer days are over and we have moved on to a Hobby Motorhome
I've recently bought a Maypole breathable cover via Ebay for about £80. I'm currently reparing the van due to excessive amounts of damp and, not having anywhere to store it under cover, went for a breathable cover so that the damp can dry out and no more can get in (if that makes sense).
It's been on a few weeks now and works a treat, the interiors nearly fully dry and despite numerous showers and no windows, door or rails on one side, it's not let any more water in.
I've repaired a few boats using the same philosophy and as long as the cover is breathable and waterproof, there's never been any problems.
Van was bought new in 2007 and we went through that first winter with no cover. Had one of the 'made to measure' breathable ones last winter and the difference in the spring was very obvious. Van lovely and clean and it was a breeze to open the flap on the door and go in and out during the winter, or let it 'air' on a good day.
Problems would always seem to be with the cheap ones, but thats like everything in life.
You get what you pay for.
i would say yes we use two towsure covers we bought the wrong size and it is too tight to zip up at the front but fits snugly that goes on first. the next size up covers everything including the draw bar ,in three years we have had no problems and wouldn't over winter our van without them. i also support the van on axle stands this reduces fatigue in the suspension rubbers
Our present van and the previous van suffered no problems due to the use of the covers.
Cover goes on in early December after cleaning the van and comes off at the beginning of March. Great to see a nice clean van after 3 months under the cover!
We bought one from towsure it was ok,but we tore it when putting it on,so decided to get a fitted one for our van , its great fits like a glove well worth the money should have got this first time!, but you live and learn.I would get a cover it keeps it clean, make sure its breathable.
We have a breathable one and yes it does keep van clean, but I would make regular checks because ours got some water/damp where the elastic keeps it snug at the bottom and it caused mildew on the skirt rail - mildew proving hard to remove!
I, for one, am watching this thread very closely as my hubby's been on about getting a breatheable cover for our tin tent for a-g-e-s! Mind you, it is HIM who has to do the washing of it so can see why he's keen on cutting down that annual wash and brush up that ours has had to suffer since we got it Hoping that just the two pathetic weeks use each year WILL change very soon but a cover sounds like a sensible idea to me, (and defo to dear hubby)
Watching this thread....closely.......Nice to get a decent spread of peeps experiences with them and to hear the for and against them camps. Love ukcs
