What do members think of the updated web sites of both CC and CC&C?. I tried to make a booking this morning on the CC&C site and gave up, found it very frustrating not being able to look at sites easily.
I find the C&CC hard work compared to the CC site. How difficult can it be for a bona fide website company to get it right?

I never had a problem using the old C&CC website for booking although I didn't find it particularly user-friendly. I've looked at the new website a few times since it was launched and, although it seems to be better that it was, I still find it very unfriendly as far as accessing site details is concerned. Why do I have to enter the size of my unit just to see a location map, for example? I've given up booking the C&CC online now and will call the site direct in future.
As a retired IT person with quite a few websites under my belt, I couldn't believe that the C&CC actually made their new website live when it was clearly inadequately tested. I understand that they needed to replace their existing expensive externally-provided system but ....
We've joined the CC this year as we have moved from tent to trailer tent and so far have had no problems using the website. I also like the Club Together forum (recognize a few people from on here). I haven't made a booking through the website yet but I can't see any problems using it.
Depending on our experience with the CC this year, I may well not renew our C&CC membership in September.
I used to find the C&CC site very usable. The new one is user unfriendly!! I have rung to book this year as there is no way you can see availability. The site wardens have told me to complain to the club as they say they are not listened to.
I am in the same mind as everyone else. Last Thursday we tried to book the Leek site. I ended up phoning and they said that they couldn't take bookings as the website was down and could I ring back in an hour. I did they started to book me in and it went down again they said they would ring me back in 1/2 hour which they did and I eventually managed to get booked in.

No problems with the CC website at all. Did try to scan the C&CC website once when looking for somewhere specific to go - gave up out of frustration in the end.
I find the C&CC website really frustrating now. I don't want to have to enter my unit details just to be able to browse their sites! I don't always know if I will be using the caravan or one of my tents until I have had a chance to read the site details. So far I haven't booked anything with the C&CC this year and I am seriously thinking of cancelling my membership.

Yep, same here with the C&CC site. Lately can't even get to view sites - just have to use the big book, which incidentally is now a small big book...
The site is very poor but I can get it to work. I ignore the "Find a site" link on hte home page and go straight to the advanced search.
You can un-check the "check availability" option if you just want to browse but unfortunately still have to enter outfit details before you can search.

I totally agree with you audicab, I looked at the C&CC website last week and couldnt find anything. Gave up and shant bother again.
Agree. their new site is not good. Gave up trying to book a ferry on it and just rang. That said, having been member of both clubs, I find the staff on the phones much more friendly and helpful in the C&CC than the CC. Nothing is too much trouble unlike the others who I've always found offhand and negative to the point of rudeness. (Image of David Walliams' Little Britain travel agent character springs to mind). The CC's website is much friendlier than their staff lol.
