Does anyone know if Xerapol scratch remover works on caravan windows, the previous owners of our caravan have scratched the front windows by using a brush to clean them, lots of little scratches all over, looks horrible. They are not deep but there is quite a lot. I have already used Fenwicks windowwize and it has made no difference at all. I don't know what to do apart from having all the windows replaced.

Any cutting compound should do, even something like Autoglym super resin polish. But i'm afraid with out a polishing machine of some sort you will be there all day.

I used T-cut on ours, came up lovely with a bit of elbow grease.

Did yours have lots of scratches on? I have heard that T-cut leaves the windows looking dull, is this right?

Yes I read that too. The caravan's getting on in years and the windows used to look hazy when the sun was on them so we thought it was worth a try, the t-cut sorted them out.

It might be worth trying a small inconspicuous area first and see what you think.

we used Xerapol and it worked a treat but you need plenty of elbow grease but yes it worked and i would recommend it

look on ebay thats where we got ours from.

We have used T cut 3 times now and the windows gleam. Used it inside as well where my engagement ring had scratched the window when I was opening or shutting the catch(ring removed can't have it scratching our precious!!)

There are many different products and ways of removing a scratch from the windows and each product or techneque is the same. It involves ultra fine sanding or the surface of the window until the scratch is gone. To the naked eye it will look like a polished finish.
I have a machine polisher and a cutting compound which i normally use on car body work and can have a whole window scratch free, as new, gleaming in about 2 mins and i go over the windows at the beginning of each season. Without a polisher you will be there all day on each window.
If they are bugging you so much get a polisher from somewhere like cleanyourcar dot com. it will cost about £100 for a basic polisher and compound, but you will get your professional finish you require time and time again. Its easy to do and you can't go wrong.

I had a lot of light scratches on my headlights and I used T-CUT UPVC, and applied it with a cheap rotary polisher (I think it's a Challenge model from Argoose)
The garage I bought the car from had sent it to a workshop to have it touched up, but instead cut the paint back with a mop which touched the headlights about 3 inches in :/
The trick is to make sure the polishing cloth doesn't dry out, as you will burn the plastic making your job twice as hard. It WILL take a while (depending on how deep/extensive the scratches are) but I was getting no where using 'elbow grease'

Good point about taking care not to burn the plastic with a rotary polisher, best to stick to a duel action polisher for a DIYer

a car polisher--about £12 from ALDI and some brasso works a treat in no time!!

Just wanted to say thank you so much for recommending the xerapol, I used it on all the windows and it took out all the scratches!! I couldn't believe it, it is brilliant stuff, infact I am going to order some more just incase I ever need it again.
