I've got one of the whale mains connectors that fits straight onto the van, great in theory, but not so good in practice.
I tried it at home when I bought it, worked a treat, but then the mains water pressure round here is 5 bar. Onsite last year in Devon, and there wasn't enough pressure, and all I got in the caravan taps was a dribble, and because we'd left the aquaroll at home, we were stuck. Next time I'll get one of those aquaroll adapters, because no matter what the site pressure is for refilling the aquaroll, the carvan will be at the pressure of the submersible pump.
Also, with the direct mains connection, there isn't a valve, so the little plastic pipes inside the caravan are at mains pressure, one loose connection and you've got a flood, another reason for the indirect aquaroll method!
