You have to use a pair of step ladders to reach the roof and it takes a pair of hands to do the job properly (one one each set of ladders) but look at the photo on the package, you don't see a roof aerial but they always make it look a perfect fit so unless you want to remove the roof aerial each year and reseal the existing hole with a blanking plate then basically they are a waste of time and money. Most people will opt for the full cover for this very reason but it has been known occassionally for certain type of roof aerials to pierce the sheet so they become more trouble than they're worth.

We have one of these and find no problem with it going over the aerial it's just a bit higher in that place, or any trouble with it piercing the fabric.
To fit it we roll it.....go either side with the step ladders and just roll it out.
We've got one and wouldn't be without it. Van sits under a cherry tree so either gets bombed by cherries or by the resident pigeons. The roof cover does exactly what it's meant to. Never used steps to put it on, just use two poles, broomsticks or the like, goes on easily enough and although we don't have a Status ariel on this van, the fm antenna unscrews quite easily from the body of the Status, so can't see a prob ............Mick
