The Compactalite was one of the biggest selling Outdoor Revolution awnings over the last three years and the new Compactalite Plus is set to takes its place as one of the most popular quick erect awnings in the UK. The Compactalite Plus awning is roomy and very versatile. It has three poles that sit just over the top of the van and when erected looks like a half tunnel tent.
It is extremely stable, and comes with a full frame across the top of its three fibre glass poles to give it extra rigidity. Now available in three colours, with a strong wave pattern around the base of the awning, and teardrop side windows the Compactalite is an extremely striking looking awning. It also comes complete with Stability Straps and has the option of a inner tent, which can be fitted on either side of the awning

We got the chance to use it for the first time for 2 weeks over Easter. We stayed at West Ayton, Scarborough for the first week and then onto Low Park Wood, Kendal for the second week. As with all awnings we found the first time we put it up a bit of a fiddle but it flew up the second time we used it so ITS GOTTA BE EASY because if it wasn't we couldn't get it up otherwise!
We found the awning to be large enough for us (2 adults and 2 kids aged 9 and 15,) to eat and store the bikes, chairs and lots of other things. Even with all 3 doors closed we found it to be airy and light. When the sun came out we opened the doors and it was great as a type of closed canopy.
All in all if we would have tried this before buying a full size, we simply wouldn't have bothered with the weight and hassle of the Isabella. Its so light in weight, easy to put up, a great size, a pleasure to be in and looks great when its on the side of the van. Questions and answers
Q. Will this fit my caravan height?
A. When checking the height of your van, DON'T use the measurement shown in the manufacturers specification. This will be to the very highest point, ie usually to the top of the TV ariel. You should measure the height from the ground, to the awning rail above the door. For instance, in the specification, a Bailey Senator is shown as 271cm high! However the actual height for the purpose of an awning is around 250cm. The vast majority of modern caravans are between 230 and 250 cm.
Q. What is RevTex 3000?
REVTEX 300 is a fully waterproof and breathable fabric. All seams are taped throughout the fabric. A hydrostatic head of 3,000mm indicates that the amount of water the fabric is able to withstand prior to the water penetrating, ensuring it remains waterproof at all times.
