Porchlite XL

Outdoor Revolution Porchlite XL

New for 2007, the larger version of the top selling Porchlite Plus. Available in three colours and manufacturer in high grade REVTEX 3000, the Porchlite XL is the strongest XL porch on the quick erect market, and is packed full of technical features to give you year after year of good use. Lightweight at around 11kg it comes as a complete kit with stability strap system, all pegs and guylines, and zip open roof vent.

Using thick fibreglass poles, and an innovative short sleeve system, the XL is great for weekend use, and gives plenty room to sit in the awning. Unlike some Porch awnings, it has a pole which sits on the awning channel (rather than sitting on the side of the van which could potentially cause damage). It also has a elasticated back to it to stop drafts (unlike other models) and comes in colours which are light enough in the day but not too bright in the morning.

Member Comments:

It is a well documented fact that putting up full awnings without "fallling out" and threatening divorce and never caravanning again is very common in the caravanning fraternity! It was practically a pleasure to put up with its 3 lightweight poles and easy to assemble. It was quite adequate in place of a full awning and we found it fulfilled all our needs - comfomtably housing 2 chairs, our cat's basket, his litter tray and sundry other items still leaving room to walk through it! Yes it even doubled as a daytime residence for our spoil burmese cat (who thinks he's a dog anyway!).... comments from D Ovett

Questions and answers

Q. Will this fit my caravan height?

A. When checking the height of your van, DON'T use the measurement shown in the manufacturers specification. This will be to the very highest point, ie usually to the top of the TV ariel. You should measure the height from the ground, to the awning rail above the door. For instance, in the specification, a Bailey Senator is shown as 271cm high! However the actual height for the purpose of an awning is around 250cm. The vast majority of modern caravans are between 230 and 250 cm.

Q. What is RevTex 3000?

REVTEX 300 is a fully waterproof and breathable fabric. All seams are taped throughout the fabric. A hydrostatic head of 3,000mm indicates that the amount of water the fabric is able to withstand prior to the water penetrating, ensuring it remains waterproof at all times.
